Jermaine and this entire class is flying under the radar... he's performed exceptionally well in big events yet the national rankings seem to downplay him for his lack of explosive athleticism... kid is a baller. I can't wait to watch him work his way into the rotation, similar to how Killa did this past year.

Sanders was someone that Mick REALLY wanted. I trust Micks ability to judge talent, and expect Jermaine to be one of those guys that 'experts' will talk about glowingly in a year or two. We need to add some elite frontcourt talent in this upcoming class, and if we can, we will be a mainstay in the upper echelons of the BE for the foreseeable future.

SK was the same way coming out of his prep school... 3 star player, doubts about his athletic ability at the High Major level... I'm optimistic. :D

Said Kilpatrick would be a player UC fans would really like, and I'm saying the same thing about 'Maine. He's going to be a good player.

John Rothstein is saying that he is hearing 'Maine is resembling a young Rashad Bishop in practice. High praise indeed.

They are a similar body types and both are lefties...if Sanders can be half the defensive player Bishop was by his senior year we'll have a good one...

Bishop??

Aside from being LH and somewhat reluctant to attack the basket, there isn't much in common. Sanders is known as a scorer with questionable defense. That doesn't sound like Bishop at all.

Either way, I'm still excited to see him in a Bearcat uniform.

I have a feeling that the only similarities between Sanders and Bishop is that they are both left handed. But in any case, can't wait until the start of hoops season. I believe its just 9 days to the start of practice, 1st exhibition game right around the corner.

You didn't see the best of him in the DSL. Sanders will benefit from being in a structured offense. Secondly, he is a much better shooter than Rashad and he can and will attack the basket off screens and rolls and he can finish. He will be in much better shape then he was 2-3 months ago as well.

I think the comparison to Bishop is in his ability to do many things well. During his recruitment I mentioned he is a guy that you may not notice then look at the box score and see he has 10-12 points, 4-5 boards, and 3 assists. My one concern with him has always been his ability to guard on the perimeter. This will change as his body type changes and his quickness increases. He is very basketball savvy and knows how to play the game. That can also compensate for physical tools thru anticipation and positioning.

Steve Logan worked hard to get in the shape he was in his senior year. Logan compensated with his basketball iq. I think the physical comparison is a good one.

I think Sanders will always be compared to Bishop. Both left handed wing players and neither are/were explosive athletes. More of controlled type player. But hopefully Sanders becomes a much better offensive player and a respectable defensive player. Sanders has a good looking shot but if he can't play defense he won't get a chance to show off his shot. With Shaq being a question mark they are going to need Sanders this year so hopefully he has been working hard to get into shape.

That comparison makes more sense.

Continue to hear that Cincinnati freshman Jermaine Sanders has been terrific. Prime candidate to fill role vacated by Rashad Bishop.

If he becomes the player Bishop was I'd be very happy. I'd like to see him get some time. I'd rather see 3 guards, him and Gates then JJ on the floor.
