Jermaine Sanders High school team (Rice) is currently playing on channel 639 Directv if anyone wants to check him out.

In a packed gym, Christ the King maintained their poise and lead until 3:03 in the first quarter when Jermaine Sanders (20 points) tied the game at 8. The Raiders were aggressive on the defensive end but it would not be enough as CTK took a 19-13 lead in the second quarter as Isaiah Lewis (4 points) knocked down a floater.

18 ppg, 58% FG Pct, 45% 3 pt FG Pct, 8 Reb, 2.5 Assists, 1.5 Steals! Nice stat line!!!!

The 45% 3 point shooting is the most impressive stat. In high school if you are bigger than anyone else your FG % will likely be high, but you can't inflate your 3 point shooting %. Jeff, was his FT % available. I remember that Logan shot 90% from the FT line in HS, and this is also an indication of a pure shooter.

This kid is going to be really good in a Bearcat uniform. He will definitely contribute next year as long as he plays defense.

If you look at the other schools who were recruiting him this is a true indication of talent. This kid was recruited by almost every big east school. On a side note is it me or has Gaines gotten bigger? Love to see that.

Most people aren't expecting a lot from Kelvin next year but I think his contributions on the defensive end and on the glass are not to be understated. I am excited by what he will bring to this team.

Sanders will contribute as a freshman. He is physically ready to play Big East basketball. Defense will be the question with him.

What do you think the chances are one of the two among Guyn and Davis redshirts next year? Assuming JaQuan comes back I don't see both of them getting minutes... does Mick see who excels in pre-season practice and redshirt the one who needs time to develop?

very, very high. with only 2 2012 scholarships currently available- it would balance the classes greatly if Guyn/Davis and Ellis redshirt. Mick said this year that its hard to play 6 guys on the perimeter- and wishes he had redshirted Parker.

Next year you have Wright, Dixon, Kilpatrick, Parker, Sanders, and one of the PG's making 6. Having both would be 7 perimeter guys. I think its almost certain one redshirts.

You're forgetting Shaq Thomas who also plays on the wing. I think Guyn will not redshirt since he is the most pure PG in the class. I don't know if JD wants to redshirt. He would be the logical choice. Of course if Parker does decide to transfer, it really doesn't matter then.

its funny you say that- because i asked cronin on his weekly FSN show mailbag the difference between the two, and he said Davis is the purer of the two. said Davis is the better passer, and Guyn is better defender and faster in open court.

And Guyn is so long for a PG at 6'3"... he's going to be a monster in the press.

He would know better than I. From reading Guyn's tweets he seems to really enjoy passing first.

This class looks to be a very nice upgrade! I think Ellis redshirts to get stronger and maybe Parker does too.. Didn't he graduate early? I think we will see a BIG difference in SK and JJ next year along with a better Gates. Should stay in the top 25 all season.. Can't wait for the dance to get this bad taste out of my mouth!
