Add it all up and you have ThaRinger.coms top rated wide receiver in a very deep Ohio 2011 class. You also have a player that top schools from nearly every corner of the country are clamoring to recruit. A look at Jordan’s offer list reveals that programs from every BCS conference except for the Pac 10 have offered a scholarship to Jordan. Though when talking with him, he seems so grounded that you’d never know he has 14 different college coaching staffs trying to sway him their way.

I caught up with Jordan while he was on that bus ride back from Kent State. He gave his current measurements as 6'2’, 195 lbs, and his best forty yard dash was a hand timed 4.36 at last years Bowling Green camp.

On the question of how recruiting is going he had this to say: “It’s going really well. I’m pretty happy with the offers I have. I’d like to hear more from Florida and OSU but I already have some great offers.” He went on to say he considers himself pretty much open to any school interested in him but admits a few stand out right now. “West Virginia, UC, Michigan, Ohio State, Indiana, Illinois, Pitt, and Louisville are probably my top schools. I liked what I saw at Michigan a couple weeks ago. They’re supposed to get back to me about an offer after they decide if they want 1 or 2 outside guys.”

Given that list of schools, some may assume Jordan is looking to be a part of a spread offense. To that Jordan’s response was, “Not really. Actually, I’m looking for an offense that spreads the ball around and has good balance with running the ball. I feel I can help a team on the outside or the slot and I like to think my blocking is a strength.”

As for other factors that will affect his decision, Jordan said “I don’t want to get too far from home. My family is important to me and I want them to be able to see my games. I guess I just want to feel comfortable with everything – the coaches, the school, the area. I’ll know it when I feel it.”

The “when” is still up in the air as well. Asked if he has a time table to commit, Jordan said “Nothing for sure. I’d like to get it down to 4 or 5 schools before the season. I think that’ll make it easier to keep focused and when I’m ready to schedule visits.” However, he may not take all of his allotted official visits. “I’m not sure yet. I’m sure I want to take at least a couple, but I might shut it down if I find the right place.”

There seems to be at least one major college prospect at Madison High School in Trotwood, Ohio, every year. Wide receiver A.J. Jordan is the man in regards to the 2011 class at Madison, while defensive back Bam Bradley highlights the 2012 class.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Jordan caught 30 passes and scored four times during his sophomore season. He had approximately 30 more receptions, scored six times during his junior season and recruiters know all about Jordan.

"I have 19 (scholarship) offers now," Jordan said. "Pitt and Ohio University came in (recently)."

WR AJ Jordan, out of Trotwood, Ohio told me that he spoke with Rich Rodriguez and Tony Dews on Friday, and his offer is in the mail. Jordan is former teammates with current Wolverines Roy Roundtree, Mike Shaw, and Brandon Moore.

He's a 6-foot-2, 165-pound wide receiver that runs a 4.4 40. AJ really likes Michigan, and is going to try to make it up to Ann Arbor as soon as possible. He is running track right now, but he said he would really like to make it up for the Big House BBQ on May 21st.

AJ runs the 4X200, 4X400, and the 110m hurdles. For any track people out there, he runs the 110m hurdles in 14.3 seconds. And, if you remember this, Jordan's team took first in the 4X200 and 4x400.

He told me that Michigan is one of his favorites right now, and they have a good chance of landing him.

Jordan has warmed to UC lately, and it's possbile the Bearcats are in the mix for his verbal. He's definitely one to follow closely.

The big addition here was four star WR AJ Jordan, who is one of the top receivers in the Midwest. He comes from the same school as Roy Roundtree, and the two players spoke on Saturday. Jordan says he's "real comfortable" with Michigan right now, and even said he'd be back for a summer camp soon. This is good news for UM, even if he said he might not work out.

(At the UM BBQ)

"The food was real good,” remarked Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) wide receiver A.J. Jordan, who attended the BBQ with several family members. “They had some chicken, some ribs and some macaroni and cheese, so it was all good.”

he 6-2, 165-pound Jordan was one of two prospects from the state of Ohio who attended Saturday’s barbecue; Columbus (Ohio) DeSales defensive end Chris Rock was the other.

West Branch Ogemaw Heights’ lineman Anthony Zettel was the lone uncommitted, in-state prospect attending.

Trotwood-Madison High School in Trotwood, Ohio, may not be a must stop for recruiters looking for talent in the state of Ohio, but it's pretty close. Year in and year out there seems to be at least one major college prospect and currently there are two definite FBS prospects in the Class of 2011, and at least one in the Class of 2012.

Junior wide receiver A.J. Jordan caught 30 passes and scored four times during his sophomore season. He had approximately 30 more receptions and six more scores his junior season.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder estimates he has 20 scholarship offers. Most recently, he has received offers from Michigan and Wisconsin. His list also includes Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Pitt, Louisville, Ole Miss, Arkansas, West Virginia, Missouri, Miami (OH) and Buffalo.

A.J. Jordan
High school: Trotwood-Madison (Ohio). Height: 6-2 1/2. Weight: 170. 40-yard dash: 4.41. Scout.com ranking: No. 25 WR.

Michigan emerged as a strong presence at Trotwood-Madison two years ago when it landed tight end Brandon Moore, running back Michael Shaw, and receiver Roy Roundtree. Now the Wolverines are back this year courting A.J. Jordan.

The four-star pass-catcher's scouting report reads like a coach's wish list.

"One of the top players in Ohio in his class," his Scout.com profile reads. "Also ranked one of the top 4 hurdlers in the nation. A smooth route runner with a great burst, he can make plays anywhere on the field and makes defenses game-plan against him."

Michigan became privy to Jordan's talents during his participation in its annual summer camp. He didn't receive an offer from coach Rich Rodriguez until late last month, but the Wolverines recent entrance into the scholarship fray did little to dim his opinion of Michigan. As a matter of fact, it was enhanced during his attendance at the program's "Barbecue at the Big House" last weekend.

"We got up there and it was real nice," Jordan told GoBlueWolverine.com. "They took us around the campus and they showed us around and made us feel real comfortable. I had a really good time. The food was real good (laughing). They had some ribs and some chicken and some macaroni and cheese. It was so good.

"I'm real comfortable there and they just made me feel like I was already part of the team. That's a big thing for me when talking about where I'm going. I feel real comfortable at Michigan."

Another feather in Michigan's cap is Jordan's relationship with Roundtree.

"We're really close," Jordan said of his former teammate. "When I was a freshman he was a senior and took me under his wing. We worked together and he's really cool. I know if I went up there I'd feel really comfortable. He's telling me it's good up there and they could get me in the system and make some plays."

The Wolverines appear to have vaulted into the driver's seat for Jordan's. Based on his decision timetable, it might prove difficult for the other 18 programs on his offer list remove Michigan from that perch.

"I would like to try to make (a commitment) a little early," Jordan said. "I'd like to have it done before my senior football season. If I make the early decision, it'll be somewhere where I feel really comfortable at with the coaches and where I could play."
