I obviously dont have any sort of insider info, but my guess is he goes to PITT. They can probably offer more playing time. Sure hope hes a bearcat though

Yes, if we lose this battle it will most likely be due to playing time. Otherwise I have confidence in our coaches and the fact that his high school teammate is coming here. Also, if he went to Pitt two weeks ago then out of nowhere decided to take a visit to Cincy, he must have not been too sold on Pitt. Unless, he had the Cincinnnati visit scheduled for a long time and figured he my as well take it just like Keith Williams did with Dayton? Who knows. All in all we aren't in desperate need of him, but is always good to have another good guard on our team and win a recruiting battle of a school like Pitt.

Hopefully he has long-term vision and sees himself as a 4 year player. That's a long time to have good opportunities in a winning program. Pitt is in transition and has dropped off some over the past few seasons.

I agree. It really would be best for him. He's not a top 50 recruit. If he can have patience and wait his turn that would be great. Even if he red shirted he could start by sophomore year. That's three years being a starter.

If anyone finds out an exact date, or any news on his commitment date, let us know.

I am having trouble figuring out exactly where this kid fits in. don't get me wrong...I would love to have him for depth. He doesn't look like a true point and we have good talent on the wing.

I LOVE his shot, confidence and his versatility but we have some pretty versatile players in Cumberland, Evans, and Williams. We have a shooter in Moore. We have Jenifer and Broome who I believe have better ball skills to run point.

Again...for depth at PG and wing I love it. Just trying to figure out where he fits in really. Starting PG? I don't think so. SG...maybe...but we have stiff competition on the wing. If he is better than our current players and signees I think we are absolutely solid for years to come 1-3.

I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter. If you can get talent, you figure out a way to get them on the floor. Nova has made it work with small lineups with 4 guards. I'd be fine if UC went in that direction if they have the shooters to do it. Plus, what if Evans explodes the next 2 years like we are all hoping? At his size and with his ball skills, he could potentially go pro after his Junior year. It wouldn't shock me if Mick isn't recruiting assuming that is what will happen.

I agree waterhead. I did not want to post anything because I did not want to sound like I don't want Carr. My thoughts were that we were going to try and land another big to finish out this class. But, I assume we are going to put that off until the class of '18 and go after, hopefully, a top tier talent for the post.

I love guys like Carr bc I love having the option to go small and use 2 guys with PG skills on the floor together. No reason we couldn't see Broome and Carr in together some, especially Carr's SO year...and by the time he's a SR who knows, maybe he will have developed into a PG by then. Just another piece to mix and match with. If he's good enough, he'll play.

I know what you mean but I think you position him to become your starting point guard eventually. Maybe like a Russell Westbrook type (Not trying to compare him to Westbrook just that type). Yeah, a point guard but can really shoot and score. Honestly Caupain might have been more of a SG that turned PG. Carr seems like he will push the ball more. Maybe on the lines of the recruit that committed to ISU, Darius McNeill. Having point guards that can score the ball like Caupain, then Broom, then hopefully Carr to follow would be great. Less like a Taron Barker.

Agreed. That's why you were high on Darius McNeill, same situation I believe.

Talented combo guards are hard to turn away. If we get him I will be happy about it. We could then grab 2 BIG's next year. Maybe a HS kid and a transfer.

Yeah, the bigs will come no need to worry. Javian Fleming is blowing and we were one of the first ones in on him. That might be a big target for us.

His jumper, big steps towards the basket and the way he finishes around the rim reminds me of Cash for some reason. I totally get why people are scratching their heads, but he seems legit and is a top 150 player. Redshirt him and let him be a RS freshman when Broome and Jenifer are seniors. Then we'll get 3 solid years from him at point if he works out.

don't need another guard who isn't that athletic. Need a front line player at the 4 or 5 spot. Carr looks to have the quicks of JD III. Not interested.
