Power forward
Grayson County CC - Denison, Texas
Denison
Ht:6'10"
Wt:227 lbs
Class:2011 (Junior College)

Per Bill Koch he will br visiting with God's Gift this weekend. Also considering Iowa, San Diego State and Washinton.

Have seen him listed at 6'9" 253 lbs.. Good shotblocker and very athletic. He is also a good free throw shooter for a big man.

Saw that on Koch's blog... Did he actually do some research? Read on some SDSU boards that the kid had been shooting 70% from the free throw line. Not gonna argue with that.

Last I looked at his stats he was around 53% from the field, close to 30% from the 3 pt. arc, 70% from the line and 7 rpg.

There has been talk about bringing in two juco bigs.

I know the numbers work themselves out but who, in your opinion is most likely to leave? Parker? Gates has said he is not going pro and I believe him. I don't see anyone else on this roster going pro.

Jason I first heard that the Bearcats may sign two players, and wanted to sign two juco bigs, the first week of Feb.. Have not heard anything from anywhere that I'd go out on a limb and say it's going to happen or that it's true. I have mentioned when putting information about new 2011 recruits up that it was interesting who they were recruiting. I know some of the 2011 players have qualifying issues, but there has been the appearance that they weren't done with the 2011 class beyond the last scholly being filled. Again, that's just personal opinion and not based on fact. Personally, I hope Parker stays. I believe he'll show improvement by moving to the wing and off the ball. Replacing a third year guy with a newcomer usually doesn't pan out well initially. Plus, a guy doesn't have to leave for a scholly to be opened. There's other options.

Personally I don't want to mess with the chemistry of this team by "replacing" a player who already has two years in the system...

everyone i have spoken to seems to think there is no reason to believe Jaquon is going anywhere.

with that being said- if space needs to be made- this is pure speculation by me- I am thinking Ellis could possibly go the prep route- refine his game, add some weight, and be a member of the 2012 class. it makes sense- he isnt ready to contribute down low next year- and we need depth on the post, we also desperately need bigs in the 2012 class....not starting a rumor here, just trying to put 2 and 2 together since everyone who says we can make room for 2 bigs isnt supply a reason for how we'd do so.

How complicated is that though considering Ellis has already signed his LOI???

It will all work out. It's fun to speculate but in the end we know there is a plan. Whether it's one more signee or two. Have my thoughts on it but till I have something concrete will just watch it all play out.

why dont you share them? this is a message board not a news publication

Is cheikh mbodji even worthy of a Scholarship offer from UC? His numbers were not that good, i am not saying he is bad or anything, but i think its more of a ploy to get GG to go ahead and pull the trigger.

He averaged 15+ points and 7.5+ rebounds. His numbers aren't good?? What numbers are those?

I think this kid is a legitimate target. Having said that, I think GG is their top target.

But maybe the rumors are true and Mick wants to sign 2 JUCO bigs this year.

I guess we'll see soon enough.

juco basketball is terrible nowadays, especially relative to 10-15-20 years ago. 15 and 7 are nice, but they are not indicative of much in terms of being a really good player.

Ok, since I'm receiving pm's about this and it is a message board here goes.

Dp3113 brought it up as a possibility but I've heard for some time now that UC will have a player go the prep route and sign two juco players.

As I've stated before I don't like throwing kids names out without having something more than whispers from people. I have actually heard two names but am told one will go prep for sure unless another recruit hasn't taken care of his business.

Remember this is something I've been told for several weeks now (recruit going prep). The source has been reliable but not impeccable. Take it for what it's worth.
