Jevon Thomas, a 5-foot-11 point guard out of Our Savior New American (NY), decommitted from St. John’s during July. The class of 2012 prospect said that St. John’s is not really involved right now and he would prefer to get away from home for school.
“I think I rushed into it too early,” Thomas said of his decision to decommit. “My family [and I decided] to revisit this and I don’t know if being home is the right thing.”
Thomas said that he holds scholarship offers from Penn State and Towson. He is also hearing from Virginia, Washington, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.
Although he has no favorites, Thomas did say Penn State is coming at him the hardest and is the only school on the list he has visited. At this point he has no other trips planned.
“Before the next signing period,” Thomas said of when he plans to commit.
