Read some tweets that UL might like Finney-Smith more than Harrell and may wait to see what Finney-Smith does. Finney-Smith fills a bigger need for them as they already have Chane at the 4 for 3 more years.

Not sure if we will have a chance but we have to appealing with Big East, top 25 team, and PT available.

It's not bashing. He just can't seal the deal like good recruiters can. He is a great coach once he has players though.

This is so funny to me. 3 years ago people were saying, the complete opposite. He has proven he can recruit. Just because he misses on a recruit doesn't mean he can't recruit.

A recruit!? As in one? That's insane, he has missed on so many its getting hard to count. But, maybe you're right; we will see after the 2013 class signs. I would be willing to bet that almost none of the high profile recruits listed in the 2013 section of this site end up at u.c., I hope I'm wrong.

Lance Stephenson for one. But you can go back to his assistant coaching days where he was the lead for recruit for Satterfield, Dermarr Johnson, etc. The guy can recruit.

HAHA it was going to be a complete shocker if Harrell didn't go to Louisville. Instead of bashing Mick, I applaud him for going for it. The guy never stops working and the fact that we were in Harrell's final four is pretty impressive, considering we just started to recruit the kid a month ago. If we had his former high school coach on our staff, things might have been different.

Dont be Ridiculous. Mick is one of the best coaches in the country. I'd hate to think where we'd be without him

Yep.

Harrell never visited UC, he made one stop at U of L and committed to them, how did Mick fail to seal the deal when there never was a deal?

Why?

Look, I never expected Mick to get this kid. But I'm kinda tired about hearing how impressive it is that Mick got UC to be in the final four of a kids list, or the final 2. That's impressive in games in March, but not in recruiting.

Mick's got a great chance with Obekpa. And he's got the 2013 class to make a big splash. Hopefully he does.

I agree.

I knew all along Harrell was Louisville's to lose. Never expected Mick to have a chance with the kid.

But it does seem that the key recruits Mick has gotten fell into his lap, such as Yancy and Lance Stephenson.

He missed out on the transfer PG Ennis, and he looks like he's going to be a bridesmaid on Obekpa.

It generally seems like his primary targets go elsewhere. Hopefully Mick seals the deal with his top targets in 2013. Getting tired of feeling like a second fiddle program.

Please explain how Yancy fell in his lap. Yancy had plenty of high major schools wanting him.

Just because Yancy was in UC's backyard doesn't mean Mick didn't have to recruit him. It irritates me every time I see someone say Yancy "fell into Mick's lap." Yancy had offers from OSU, Indiana, Georgetown, Kansas State, Xavier and a whole lot of interest. Mick had to put the same amount of time into recruiting Yancy as he does anybody else.

Yeah having him five minutes away was beneficial so he could always visit and play open gyms but it's not like it was a given he would come here.
