He is the recruit I'm most excited about in this class love his size and athleticism and damn I love how he goes hard to the rim and dunks on people. Killer instinct this kid has it! When I saw the tweet you could say I lit up just a little and had a big smile :)

So With Morman ending the rumors of him not having the grades and going PREP to open a spot on the roster whos the odd man out now? Nyarsuk or Gaines seem to be the only ones coming to mind. Unless someone like guyn or sanders transfers

I have a hard time seeing Guyn leave. He is the front runner for the starting PG spot. I guess Sanders could see PT being an issue but I still think it is one of the bigs you mentioned.

Maybe someone is going to get financial aid instead of a scholly, they might have worked something out so everyone can stay. More likely, someone will transfer, but still......

I am not exactly sure how financial aid works with athletes but I would have to believe that it doesn't work that way. Unless someone is eligible for an academic scholarship or something like that, I don't see someone paying their own way, even with financial aid.

What did Lance do? Did he count as a scholly? I thought he had some aid package instead of a scholly, but I may be wrong.......

He signed a financial assistance package or whatever they call it because he signed late. Just like any recruit would have to sign now since the signing period is over. Still counts towards your scholly count.

Correct. Financial assistance for a late signing player is still a scholarship. They just don't sign a NLI and therefore are technically not bound to a school until they start using that financial aid (aka start classes).

Oh, okay, thanks for clearing that up. Still, it wouldn't surprise me if something has been worked out so everyone could stay. Maybe someone is transferring, but we can't afford to lose a big man from a pure depth standpoint. Sanders is a decent role player , don't think he will transfer. Guyn is probably going to stay because of the lack of PG experience the team has. Tough to figure who the odd man out is or if there even is one.....

You're thinking about "big men" all wrong. Cronin wants to play a 4 out 1 in style. So take that and assume that Titus and Jermaine Lawrence split minutes at the 4. That leaves Strickland, JJ, and Narsyuk/Gaines for 40 minutes at the 5. Gaines has a shoulder issue so who knows how much he would even play. Barring an injury, I think Mick would be ok with 3 guys for 40 minutes.

The question is will Mick stick to that? Last year, this was the plan, and he ditched it. I just wouldn't be too comfortable saying that it is definitely his plan, given what we know from last year.......

This might have been posted already, but here is a dunk contest that Deshaun won. Skip to 3:15, 8:20, 13:00, and 15:15.

So is Morman able to play for us next year? Or have they not cleared him to be able to play or not yet?

I read somewhere that NCAA clearinghouse can take a while. I think by early fall we will have official word, but Mick does his homework and he probably would still be recruiting if he thought Morman might not qualify. I would say at this point, barring a catastrophe, he will be cleared.

What are the chances Morman sees time at the point?

The reason I ask is I havent heard it brought up at all. I just purchased ESPN The Magazine and it comes with free ESPN INSIDER. So since I have Insider now I decided to look up some of the new recruits.

The very first sentence on him...

Morman is a strong and physical lefty combination guard that has really improved since moving to the point.

He played point at his prep school in Florida. Im guessing that is what it is referring to.

I really think he is slated to play on the wing. I think Caupain is the guy for the point spot out of the new guys. KJ has more of a 2 guard mentality from what I know about him. Is it possible? Maybe, if his handle is good enough. I still think you are looking at Caupain and Guyn at the point this year.

If you watch his video you will notice he heavily favors his left hand on the dribble. That...along with average handles is going to be a problem. The only time I see him playing PG is when we are playing 3 guards with no PG in the game. Not that I don't think this kid can provide some serious minutes other than PG. I like his attitude.
