Good rebounding power forward. Has good size and plays his space well. Illinois is looking at him and Minnesota and UAB has offered. Memphis, South Florida and Virginia are also checking him out. Cincinnati is picking up their interest.

I thought he blew out his knee playing RB for the Bengals? I guess he's picked up a new sport.

Apparentlely Perry sort of blew up at the Peach Jam over the weekend. Getting a ton of high major attention now and Memphis is all over him. He had a matchup with Beejay Anya who is ranked 36th on rivals and Perry outplayed him. Perry is a back to the basket 5 man. They need this much more than a JUCO face up 4 who would automatically be behind JJ and Rubles for his first year. I would love Perry and a face up 4 like Etou, Henry, etc, etc. If there is any spot they could use a juco it at the 5 not the 4. This guy is clearily a 4 at 200 lbs. Half of our guards weigh more than this guy

Ndour is not a "face-up 4," as you're implying. His stat line and highlights show that he bangs under the basket, much like JJ. I'm not sure that Rubles would be ahead of him on any depth chart. What's alluring about Ndour is that he can also play the 3, and he'd fit perfectly into Mick's system.

I agree, though, that Ndour's not a prototypical center, and I really want Mick and the gang to add some beef down low. I like this guy's size, and from what I've read, he's a heck of a rebounder who creates a lot of space. Unfortunately, every time I search for this kid, I get bombarded with information about the aforementioned Chris Perry of Bengals lore. Maybe Chris Perry, the Bearcat, could redeem the name around town...

he is not a face up 4, but he can also play the 3? can you clarify that? you seem to imply that he is a banger down low, but also can play on the wing....isnt that a de facto face up 4?

I was only commenting on his versatility. He can bang down low in his natural 4 position, but he also has great ball-handling skills and a good jump shot, so he's able to step outside and play the 3 if his coach wants a long lineup on the floor.

I guess you're right, though. He is a face-up 4, for the most part, as his strength isn't playing with his back to the basket. My mistake; I'll eat my words.

Cincinnati & USF are working hardest for '13 E1T1 Elite (FL) big man Chris Perry. Both schools have offered. Memphis, Miami & more involved.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — As Florida-based Each 1 Teach 1 coach Edward Francis looked over a Nike Peach Jam stat sheet Saturday, his mouth dropped when he found what he was looking for.

"You shot (77 percent) for the tournament. That's crazy. That's crazy!" said Francis, who was praising E1T1 big man Chris Perry, a senior forward from Bartow (Fla.) High playing AAU ball for the first time this summer.

Perry wasn't supposed to be this good. When The Commercial Appeal profiled him in June, he was nowhere to be found on the major recruiting services, yet the University of Memphis had offered the 6-8, 245-pounder.

The Tigers were Perry's first major offer, but, after this week's performance, they won't be his last.

Though Perry's E1T1 team was eliminated from Peach Jam title contention in Saturday evening's quarterfinals, he ranked second in the tournament in field-goal percentage (26-of-34) through six games and was tied for second in rebounding, averaging 11.5 points and 9.3 rebounds.

They were numbers even Perry hadn't envisioned when he began playing for E1T1 in April.

Before this summer, he had only played in local summer tournaments with his high school team.

Perry, who wears size 17 shoes, seemed almost embarrassed about his ascension when asked about it Saturday. Scout.com now ranks him a three-star prospect.

"Seriously, if I wouldn't have been on this team, I wouldn't even have been thinking about going to college," said Perry, who, besides Memphis, now has offers from Cincinnati and South Florida and interest from a host of other schools.

"I didn't expect it to go this well. This is my first year playing AAU, period.

"They told me right before I started, (the Peach Jam) is like a miniature NBA."

There are still areas in which Perry has to improve.

Since he hadn't played against elite competition until this summer, Perry is still adjusting to the speed and athleticism of high-level prospects.

But his natural skills are unquestionable, and given the right circumstances, he could develop into a productive force on the block and/or the high post.

"Once his confidence gets to where he just says, 'I'm one of those players,' then he's going to be off the charts," Francis said.

"He brings a lot to the table. I can use him outside because he's got a nice 12- to 15-foot jump shot and he's a good passer. He has good hands.

"But never did I expect this."

For now, Perry says he's "soaking it all in" when it comes to his recruitment. After all, until this summer, he hadn't been on the national radar, so his newfound popularity has been a bit overwhelming.

"There was a point where I wasn't even starting. I was the last person off the bench," said Perry, who didn't start for E1T1 until May.

"I love that my teammates have confidence in me. Now, I've just got to have confidence in myself."

I'm crossing my fingers that this is one of those years where Mick's recruiting takes a jump forward. It's not like his recruiting has been bad, but since he took over I can't ever remember being mentioned with so many top 100 recruits including so many top 50 ones. And it seems like he's not only mentioned, but that UC is mentioned often as one of the top 5 in on a player or sometimes even a favorite. Or that the player has taken notice that UC is on him hard and really wants him bad. Good stuff.

Already have two really good guards committed. To get a couple of top big men would be something special. Keep it up Mick. I'm excited.

Completely agree. I feel like we are all over the top 100. I can't wait to get updates on our prospects everyday. Our recent success has certainly had an impact in terms of getting players interested in coming here. Hopefully, we will see that translate into a big, talented class. The next 9 months will be extremely exciting.

I think Mick is being completely truthful when he says that it is a lot easier to recruit high profile players when they come to the Shoe and see a full house. It has taken awhile for the fans to return and understandably so, but with the team's success the last two years, I really see this thing coming back to where it was in the mid-late 90s and early 2000s and that is exciting as a fan.

IMO, the staff is after Perry, Jermaine Lawrence ( not counting on it) and Josh Hart the most. Perry or someone like him is a must. Lawrence would be awesome but not a must and the wing is a luxury imo. Got Shaq and Sanders for a few more years. Center is by far the most important.

Chris Perry of Florida's Each One Teach One Elite AAU program has been turning heads on the court during this July live period. The 6-foot-8, 236 pound big man has 20 offers and his play has proven that he is a definite high major player at the next level.

Perry is a great scorer in the post with a left and right hook as well as a solid jumper. He also displays a high level of athleticism with a great defensive presence, blocking many shots. To sum up his game, Perry is the definition of an all around big man. To polish up his game, Chris is working on getting in better shape.

Tim Duncan is Perry's role model on the court. Chris tries to compare his game to Tim and has many on the court similarities.

Many schools are in hot pursuit of Perry such as Cincinnati, USF, Memphis, Murray State, Tulsa, Temple, Miami, UCF, Baylor, Dayton, Jacksonville, Boston University and more. 20 schools have offered the big man; Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Kennessaw State, Georgia Southern, Boston University, UCF, Illinois, USF, Memphis, Florida International, UAB, Minnesota, Temple, Miami, Butler, Murray State, Dayton, VCU and Rhode Island.

Right now the schools working hardest for Perry are Cincinnati and USF. They should have a great shot at landing him when he announces his mid-August decision.

Off the court, Chris enjoys playing baseball, playing video games, hanging out with his friends and swimming. As far as music, Chris enjoys listening to Meek Millz and 2 Chainz.

This kid sounds like he would be a great pick up. Hopefully Mick and company can seal the deal.

Not sure it it has been mentioned or not, but Chris Perry's AAU Team, Each 1 Teach 1 is playing tonight on ESPNU at 7pm. If anyone is interested.

I'm going to say something that we're all thinking: Chris Perry would look sexy in black and red. He would be a great pick-up. Aside from Josh Hart, he's my new favorite target.

Does anyone know when Rivals updates its Top 150 again? I think it's at the end of the summer, but I'm not sure. I can't wait to see Chris Perry and Troy Caupain on that list.
