I think the ship sailed with Morris. My guess was it was a first come first serve with some of the guard options (Morris, K. Johnson, J. Johnson).

Unless they sign a 2/3, Shadell Millinghaus would fit that, the guard ship has sailed in my opinion. Two bigs are certain by whatever means.

Does Mack even travel and recruit these kids? or does he simply read these message boards looking for who Mick is recruiting? Seems like the latter.

X was recruiting Morris long before UC was...
...and they just now offered him? That makes little sense.

Xavier started recruiting him over a year ago. UC started recruiting him during the open evaluation period this April. Not sure what you missed...
That's not my point. UC offers him after a short period of evaluating him and it takes Xavier a year to evaluate, realize he's worth it, and then offer? That's my point.
I guess Mick is just better at evaluating talent than Mack.

Accourding to TheRecruitScoop Monte is deciding today. Bcl twitter seems to think that it is ISU.

Many thought he may commit there after his visit. Butler and Illinois are the other 2 options.

On target. Committed to ISU.
I wouldn't say we "let this kid go to Ames." ISU had been recruiting him for a while. UC first took note in April while watching Obekpa in Vegas. If we didn't land KJ/Caupain I'm sure we would have had a better shot but I wouldn't say we would have had him locked up. He developed a relationship with ISU's staff and visited. Plus they are on the rise so it's understandable. Wish the kid well.
Probably money involved.

Semantics.
My question still stands. Why sign the other 2 with this kid still in play? Wondering if it was a a sure thing is better than a chance or if something else came into play?
