Can this forum please get a little classier? I feel like half the posts I read are people just bashing each other, often making it personal with name calling and what not. Let's all simmer down a little.

Cincinnati head coach Mike Cronin watched Jermaine Lawrence work out on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-10 Lawrence of Pope John XXIII is considering Cincinnati, St. John’s and UNLV and is expected to announce soon. He has yet to play this season as he recovers from hand surgery.

“[Coach Cronin] watched our game-day workout and talked to me and Jermaine for a little while about how he would fit in at Cincy,” Pope John coach Jason Hasson told SNY.tv.

Asked what his message was, Hasson added: “On offense, they like to focus on mismatches in their offense and Jermaine is the ultimate mismatch. With guard quickness and forward size, he creates a mismatch almost on every possession.

“Defensively, the way they pressure to have an elite shot-blocker like Jermaine would allow them to pressure even more than they already do.”

Cincinnati has a recent tradition of landing tough players from New York and New Jersey, including Lance Stephenson, Sean Kilpatrick, Jermaine Sanders and Shaq Thomas.

Of Cincinnati, Lawrence recently told SNY.tv: “Cincinnati, the coaching staff is real cool. They’ve been keeping in touch with me since my sophomore year. I like the way they use their forwards and they’re a tough team. There’s nothing better than playing with a tough team.”

I saw on ncaabbs.com that one of the three people he'd like to eat lunch with is Oscar Robertson...I'm sure Mick can arrange that.

Thanks for the article bearcat18 that's good stuff to hear! This makes me more confident in this kid but also if he doesn't pick uc its not BC Mick didn't try! I think Maine is liking UC more and more each day.

Didn't UC offer another kid from this john pope school? He is in the class of 2015. If we get Maine it could be opening Pandora's box. :)

2013 five-star forward Jermaine Lawrence is taking his visit to St. John's this coming weekend, a source says.

Jermaine Lawrence has been cleared by surgeon and could return to court tomorrow for game I'm told. #stjbb on tap for this weekend

You ain't kidding. From here until he announces I'm a fan of whoever St. John's plays. Hopefully Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Georgetown can knock them off. And maybe Depaul too while we're at it....:)

They might work in reverse. Seeing that St. John's is bad he will know if he goes there he will start immediately, who would not want immediate playing time.

That was posted on the previous page FYI.

It's not like Rubles and JJ are lighting it up here. He would see substantial playing time here as well. Hell, we could start him at three since Parker won't be here. Then Shaq and Sanders can come off the bench again. He has the handles to play the three. Imagine a line-up with Guyn/Caupain, SK, Lawrence, Rubles, and Big Dave. He would cause huge mismatches against threes.
