Richmond & Cincinnati have offered 2013 Cosby (VA) guard Troy Caupain, per his coach.

Interest from Missouri, Memphis, FSU, Wake Forest, and Auburn. Unofficially visited Missouri.

Recently dropped 40+ points over the past couple weeks on a couple different occasions.

Scored 41 points in a win in January. That was following a holiday tournament in which he averaged 31.5 points. He had a 48 point game Jan. 30th. He has a knack for getting to the line and in the 2 40 point plus games he made a combined 40 free throws.

UC's interest is increasing. UC has been trying to get him to the game Wednesday. Haven't heard anything official.

Does anybody know if we have any visits locked down for tomorrow night? Seems like a perfect time for some recruits, top 10 opponent with our newly found crowd.......

[Troy Caupain of the Class of 2013 at Cosby High School];

I traveled to Midlothian, Virginia, about 80 miles east of Charlottesville, Virginia on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. I was going to scout Class of 2013 Troy Caupain. He recently said, “If he had a wish: “To go straight to the NBA out of high school.” They were taking on Meadowbrook High School, which is located in Richmond, Virginia.

I can’t figure out why Troy Caupain is not highly-recruited: maybe things will change next season as he’s a senior. He’s listed at 6=3 180. He’s a smooth ball-handler that you can’t steal the ball from. He can really jump, and dunks are no big deal to him. In this game, he scored 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but his team lost 87-79. Troy Caupain is basically too good for Group AAA basketball. He can dribble through an entire team at full speed, dribbling at a high rate of speed, until he gets in the lane. There, he lays it up softly.

He connected on 12 out of 19 shots. He is a TRUE point guard, and I don’t think any coaching can make a basketball player in to a true point guard. He hit on all nine of his free throw attempts. Meadowbrook’s record is now 15-9, and Cosby’s record is 19-7.

Good visit and a great game to watch! Let's up Cats get in deep, this kid could blow up if he plays well in AAU ball.

It looks like the second best program recruiting him is Richmond? Sounds like this kid is wayyy under the radar because he plays in a lesser division. Also, that Twitter post made it sound like he was hoping for an offer from us last night, but Rivals reports that UC and Richmond have already offered him.

Ummm...I'd give Presbyterian the upper hand in this one then. ;)

Trust me, that's going to change.

I'm home in New York for the big east tourney deals mad good to be here

Prediction: first commit for2013. Mick is smart getting in on him early. He is blowing up and with a big spring big schools will be all over him. A lengthy scoring machine who can handle the ball. Great size for the two. Ideal two guard and if he has point guard qualities like I have read huge bonus.

I agree with you. I think it happens in the near future.

Great season for the cats

I can't tell if the kid is simply confident or arrogant.

It would be nice to get a true PG, and one who can make FT's.
