He looks like he could be a nice get if we can land him. A big scoring guard that has a knack of getting to the line and sinking free throws is always a good thing.

I agree that landing a PG would nice as well with Cash going into his Sr. year. I have to think Mick has some options his recruiting out there.

Caupain told Scout he is going to wait until after AAU season is over to decide and said he has no offers now because teams are waiting on his SAT.

Troy Caupain, a 6’3 combo guard who runs with Team Loaded, is receiving a wide variety of college interest. The Cosby (VA) standout claims offers from Cincinnati, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Richmond, Wake Forest, High Point, and Northeastern. He is also hearing from Missouri, VCU, George Mason, and others. Caupain does not have any favorites and said Cincinnati is coming at him the hardest. Regarding the Bearcats’ pursuit of him, Caupain, who lived in New York City until he was 11, said, “They’re coming at me the hardest because that’s been my dream to play college in [Madison Square] Garden or play [in the] NBA in The Garden . . . but I’ll go anywhere, move up and down the East Coast.” Playing at Cincinnati, or another Big East school, would allow for Caupain to play games at MSG.

I'm not convinced this kid has enough loyalty to stick with UC since UC has been recruiting him the hardest and as one of the longest too. Seems like another kid who will jump at another offer. Geez, watch out for Steve Lavin.

But I really, really like this kid's game. Hope he ends up a Bearcat.

Loyalty is usually not a word associated with recruiting and yes I love his game too.

Troy Caupain is now a Cincinnati Bearcat per his travel team coach.

Prediction: first commit for2013. Mick is smart getting in on him early. He is blowing up and with a big spring big schools will be all over him. A lengthy scoring machine who can handle the ball. Great size for the two. Ideal two guard and if he has point guard qualities like I have read huge bonus.

Great prediction.

I think his primary position might be PG. Now if we could land Monte Morris as well, that would be a hell of a start to 2013.

With all the other recruit non-news, todays news of Caupain and new Assistant are great. I don't know much but from when I first read about Caupain and his game he seemed like a "Bearcat." Glad he is in the fold. This is a huge get.

It seems to be on par with the type of player we have gotten recently. Level headed, underrated player that has a chip on their shoulder. You can build sweet 16's with those type of players.

Need to sprinkle in a couple of high 4's and maybe a 5 star player to get to a final four.
