I love this guy. He's the junkyard dog. It isn't explosive and his form is a little funky, but he's got great touch and looks to be one of those guys with an inherent knack for getting just enough space to shoot. I bet Baylor looked at him bc they saw some Lacedarius Dunn. I think we're in on him early and he could really blow up with a year at a good prep program.
Was his move from TX to CA after his JR year part of the reason he's under the radar? Do you think Mick more or less sealed the deal when he was watching Stewart in Cali, but no one picked up on it bc they don't even have a page for him?

If it is true that he will sign in the class of 2015 is he better of in Cinci getting to know the players, speed of game and city as a red shirt or playing at a prep school. If he lights it up next year (prep) and still in Cali we could lose him. Only thing that I can think is lawrence is to stay or someone will be here one year if he were to leave. I to would love for Lawrence to finish as a bearcat! wish the young man the best of luck!

There was a post on a Fresno St board a couple months ago saying there were questions with his academic situation. Might need the prep school just to get eligible. If we didn't have the last scholarship taken and could get him in early, that'd be great though. Still kind of weird that there isn't anyone reporting on this.

did not think of academics,Mick has recruited so many kids doing well with grades. Thanks, good info!

This is a weird situation. Nobody has heard anything besides him tweeting he's a UC commit. I've never seen anything like this where literally nobody knows what is going on

If I had to guess, I'd say bc it happened on a Friday night and no recruiting sites know/care enough to have a page on him, they aren't exactly searching for this story. But he had interest from us, Baylor, Villanova, SDSU, Tulsa, and Oregon State...and enough interest to knock area Fresno State out of his final 5. With 3 2015 scholarships, I don't mind him taking the first. If Mitchell or Beasley commit and we get a SF to round out the class, we'll be in business.

Didn't Devon Scott do the exact same thing?

This kid obviously has some talent, but this would be a very underwhelming trio of commitments the last few days.

Ellis was a juco all American that's kinda huge. And everywhere I read about Cobb signing, the writer thinks he's lock to start. I guess guards shooting like him don't grow on trees.

I'll respond in the Jucos thread to keep this thread on topic.

Cobb is definitely going to start at SG. He has a polished offensive game

He is going to have to win that battle. He played point for most of the year last year. He is undersized at 6"1 and I have no idea what kind of defense he plays. Beating out Kevin and Deshaun will be no cake walk. Nothing is definite at this point.

Is Cobb a point guard or shooting guard? I can't wait to watch Morman play. No one really talks about him but he seems like he might be a Dion Dixon type athlete

If you watch highlights of Cobb vs Kansas its pretty easy to see how much game he has. There is no one on the current UC roster who has those kind of offensive skills....yet.

It really doesn't matter who starts. TC, KJohnson, and DMoorman are all going to see major minutes. But I do think Cobb will see the most and probably play both PG and SG
