As of Sunday morning there are now 14 undefeated teams remaining in Div. 1 college basketball... 14 out of over 300.
Our Bearcats are one of those 14.

The offensive flow and rhythm is light years ahead of last year... to compare the two is crazy, imo... they did a near exceptional job last night of moving the ball quickly and passing up the good look, making the extra pass and getting the great look... as Mick Cronin said in the post game presser UV's defense was dictating that they play from the perimeter... It's not quite a fact yet, but it's becoming more and more evident that this team shoots the ball 100% better from long range than last year's.
Teams shouldnt dictate what your own team does. It should be vise versa
IMO this team will be exposed in big east play with this offense. Shooting a lot of 3's will lead to pointless droughts, as we've seen

I totally agree with the Psax. Usually I am extremely quick to get on the team for doing nothing with the ball around the outside then jack up a ton of three's but tonight..... not the case! I was surprisingly impressed with the movement on offense, def. refreshing thing to see. Even if they did take a lot of three's tonight, they were in the flow of the offense and even better, they were all feeling it a bit which was good to see. Parker was a bit frustrating to watch last night, but the rest of the guards looked solid.
I think you are over analyzing a bit too much. We have players that can shoot the ball. Let them shoot when it is a quality shot. There was nothing wrong with the selection last night. And in BE games, certain styles of play with dictate a game, that is just a fact. Don't you think if we get in a mild drought, we will make a change and go to the basket? I have a little faith that we have the players and coaches to realize that and make it happen.
I would agree this teams ball movement is better than last year.
Still it is the same system. High ball screens at the top of the key from the post players. Last night the Cats shot 14-28 from 3. 50%! Incredible. 42 of the 92 points came from 3. It would be nice to see that everynight. All I am saying is that why not work on the low post game vs these cup cake teams. Be 2 dimensional instead of 1. Put it on film that you can get the ball down low as well as shoot the 3.
If you put it on film the rest of the Big East will have to practice defending the low block as well as the 3.

The wide open 3's are because these teams arent as athletic as the Big East. They were too slow and out physicalled

You will ever be happy. Mick is 8-0 and has his best class coming in. I am not saying punch your NCAA tickets but your constant pessimism is painful.
If UC gets in the tournament. It won't be good enough to last.
If they get to two, no big deal we should get there.
What will it take to make you happy this year?
Weren't you the guy who wanted Steve Lavin??[/QUOTE]
AHAHAH!
UMM carefull where you go with that...
Rivals and ESPNU have Lavins recruiting class ranked #2 and #3 for next year

No one has ever questioned Lavin's ability to get recruits. And the guy is a decent coach, but that team with what, nine seniors?... just lost to Fordham. I wouldn't fall in love too much with the Johnnies new coach.
You really think the Big East has no concern whatsoever with Yancy Gates as is?
Question: Why have these cupcakes all been packing it into the paint and playing zone against UC?
Answer: Because of Yancy freaking Gates.
Now I'm not saying it will be that way in the Big East, because it won't. Teams will have the size and athleticism to match up man to man. The point is Yancy is a big threat and every team UC plays knows that.
Pretty sure you just made my point there.
Teams arent as athletic and physical as the Big East to match up

So now its a two way street.
Mick's first year he got a pass cuz he was dealing with all this and that and it wasnt his players
Lavin is in the same boat. His 2011 class is ranked very high. Lets give him a couple years

Lavin has also had more time as a HC than Mick had... with mixed results.
I never said he was a bad coach. Don't put words in my mouth. I simply implied that you shouldn't get too wrapped up in him because I'm not sure how much (if any) better he'd be than Cronin.
But that has nothing to do with ball movement and getting the open look from three. So your point still evades me.
