From Dorian, Georgia to Cincinnati, Ohio, basketball is taking Tre Scott places.
The 6-foot-7 forward from McIntosh Academy on the coast of Georgia verbally committed to the Bearcats on Monday night, shortly after returning home from an official visit to the school.
"Besides basketball, Cincinnati is a great opportunity for me," Scott said. "Even after basketball is over, I'm going to be good because I went there. I feel comfortable there and I just liked everything about it."
Scott took an official visit to Cincy over the weekend and took some time to talk things over with his parents. It didn't take too long for him to make his decision final.
"I had a feeling that once I saw it for myself, I would like it even more. I like places where I'll be staying. I know that sounds funny but I want to be comfortable with where I live. It's not far from campus and everything is walking distance. It is a great living environment up there."
Bearcats head coach Mick Cronin likes to use combo forwards like Scott and has had success with guys like him in the past. Scott said he likes the vision Cronin has for him moving forward.
"He'll use me as a combo forward. He said he likes how I get up and down the floor and I can give them more athleticism and versatility," Scott said. "I think I can be a mismatch here or there and beat people off the dribble at the three. If there is a smaller guy at the four, I can use my quickness to defend him. I feel like I can help them in different places."
Scott picked the Bearcats over offers from Florida Atlantic, where he visited officially, and Murray State.
