Damn I didn't realize it was that low. Sad we only lose 1 senior, yet we only have 11 scholarship players. We return the "entire team," but that's really just 8 players

I don't see it as that big of a deal. You only play 5 at a time and most teams typically have a rotation around 8 players. The only exception would be injuries. If you can't practice because too many guys are out, that would be an issue.

No it's not really, we'll still be stacked

PG Troy, Jenifer
SG Cobb, KJ
SF Shaq, Evans
PF Clark, Moore, Scott
C Ellis, DeBerry

I wonder if Scott will play a little at the 3 as well

Ideally you'd get to choose those 8 players, rather than have them be any guy who made it through the season with a scholarship, regardless of how ready they are to perform.

I think Scott is primarily a 3. Good to see him so dedicated to bulking up though too.

I bet you can't find 10 teams in the NCAA tournament last year that were using all 13 'ships.

Total non issue.

Probably not 10 teams with only 8 guys able to play either (yes, yes Duke had 8). But I do agree that it will be a total non-issue this season, as far as discipline goes (obviously can't speak for injuries).

Mick hinted at Tre possibly redshirting last night. This tweet from Tre today sounds like will redshirt, but I don't see it confirmed anywhere.

@trescott13: Something I chose to do on my own !

I'd rather see Moore redshirt this year, but I do think one of them should. Clark is going to play close to 30 minutes a game I would imagine. He is one of our best players, doesn't make a lot of mistakes, is a good defender and very consistent. DeBerry can back him up and Ellis. Moore can play when we need some fouls, but he really needs to stop making so many mistakes and turning the ball over. Our 9 man rotation is STRONG. Evans and Jenifer will be the missing pieces we needed last year. We lost Sanders and added a potential future NBA player and a terrific PG. Jenifer's speed, vision and confidence are off the charts. I really love his game.

From the Enquire:

REDSHIRT CANDIDATE: Freshman forward Tre Scott was the only player not to play for the Bearcats. Cronin said UC is leaning toward redshirting Scott.

"I don't offer that to everybody," Cronin said. "I'm really high on Tre Scott. It's just hard to get him in the game right now. You're playing 10, it's hard to get 10 in. It's really hard to get 11 in."

I think redshirting a sophomore is a lot different than redshirting a freshman. Moore would transfer if asked to redshirt. I think Mick's line of thinking is neither are going to produce big time and will get spot minutes against real competition so redshirt one. And having Tre Scott around for an extra year is much more upside than having Quadri around for an extra year. Me personally, I don't like redshirting a guy unless he truly isn't ready to contribute.

Scott is smart to redshirt. Next year there will be a lot more minutes for him. He can develop his game in practice and build his body in the gym and have a chance to play an additional year playing starters minutes.

Evans is no joke passing either

I think that Quadri is a very underrated passer. He had a great look Friday for a dunk. I am also amazed at the amount of steals Gary Clark produces, has a nose for the ball.

Smart decision for Scott. It is nice to be able to get him, Washington and Cumberland next year and have the option to possibly redshirt brooks.
