Cobb is the sharp shooter we need at sg has more experience and like I said weeks ago I was not impressed with KJ last year there were several game where he didn't even play because he wasn't good enough for the 9 player rotation and what 4 games where he played more than 15 minutes and you guys are willing to give him the starting spot over a juco that's proven?

This is not serious is it? He didnt make the 9 man rotation because he is a pure 2 and he had an all american playing 35 minutes a game ahead of him. As he got comfortable he and Troy became a great tandem and he hit big shots down the stretch. That juco has not proven shit. He has not consistently played at the highest level for a full season. KJ has a year in the system, is known for playing good defense, and has length and height on Cobb. Cobb may well come in and tear it up and win the job but to think that KJ is not right there is insane.

If KJ was good enough mick would of found him a spot or more time than 4 games at the end of the year. Buti think KJ will be an ok back up at the 2 this year but I don't think he will win the starting spot.
KJ hasn't played a full season either and ill say the say to you KJ ain't proved anything yet either.

couldn't agree more Jack. KJ will play a big role in teams success next year. I actually feel better about his game hearing Bearcatboy downplay his abilities considering he hasn't been right since the flood.

"JUCO" + "proven" = oxymoron.....KJ will start unless Cobb is freaky good, & that rarely happens with JUCO types.

Because I don't agree with you about a rookie now I'm wrong there opinions that's why we are on this board to express each person reasoning.

I guess sitting here watching the reds game seeing Kemp in a Dodger uniform has clouded my opinion of your expertise.

Both will play plenty but it is my opinion KJ will start. There is some uncertainty with GG that won't be clear till he can practice under contact. I think Cobb will play both guard spots and that whether he starts or not will play starter minutes.

It seems to me the playing time and position of Cobb probably revolves around where Mick is going to play GG. If GG splits again with TC at poing guard then Johnson and Cobb will likely man the 2 for the most part. If GG gets inserted at the 2 then it would make sense that Cobb may be able to play more point and Johson will split with GG at the 2. Of course I don't want to rule out Mormon either.

TC is playing point guard and Johnson is playing SG. Cobb and Guyn might be able to play either or. Mormon might be able to play 3 different positions.

It makes the most sense to me to put TC and GG back at point guard and to let Johnson and Cobb man the 2.

I can see TC getting 25 minutes at the PG. I can see GG getting 15 and 5 at either the PG or SG. I can see Johnson getting 15 at SG. I can see Cobb getting 10 and 5 at either the PG or SG depending on where Guyn plays most of his minutes. Of course Mormon might have a say as well...but I think Mormon would make a better 3.

whatever combination it is I'm ready to get it rolling. As long as Guyn doesn't start at PG I'm cool. Every guard on team brings something different to table so I expect all of them to get fair share of minutes to prove themselves early on.

Morman might be the wild card...what if he's so good he forces his way into more playing time? It'll be an interesting preseason.

Well it wasnt just the last 4 games at the end of the year. Was instrumental in helping the team beat Nebraska and Memphis (at Memphis) towards the beginning of the year. Juco does not equal proven. KJ may not have the minutes under his belt to say he "has played a full season" but he has practiced everyday with a D1 team that was ranked as high as 7th in the country. He played in high profile games and got a taste of the physicality and speed of the D1 game. Cobb has played at a mid major and then a juco. So I'll ask you the question in reverse, why are you ready to give a guy who was a juco, mid major player the starting spot over a guy who already has been productive at the position in this system?

My reasoning for having a lot of faith in KJ:

- First 5 games: 6/26 (23%) FGs. After that, shot 35/77 (45%)
- 0/13 start from beyond the arc. After that, shot 15/35 (43%)

If you look at overall numbers, I see your doubt, but Mick is going to give him a LOT of time this year to prove that the numbers after his rough start are no fluke. Also throw in that he hit 26/30 FTs (87%).

Now, back to Justin Jenifer, maybe?

KJ had best FT% on team last year

Because there is no one else better to start at sg IMO he the best sg if you throw mason on the team then ill start him at sg I just don't believe you cant throw a barely played soph (KJ) into the starting sg spot and expect to win the conference and even the national championship.

But I do respect all you KJ supporters and your options but you have to see my angle as well. Just agree to disagree.
