I know height isn't everything but your ceiling can only be so high when you are 5'9" and if he was playing his best ball earlier in his career, I wouldn't continue to recruit him. I could be totally wrong about him peaking, that's just what people have been saying.

He is my least favorite guard that is on our board right now. I dont like his size, and is too flashy with the ball. I want a lead guard with high major speed that can distribute. And if he cant distribute he better be a lights out shooter (which he is not) He has had a brutal spring. I just like Evans, Sanders and Hudson better as lead point guards. As always I'll trust the staff.

You've obviously seen him play quite a bit.

Can you give a report on how he fares defensively?

Thanks.

Nope. Just thinking if you've seen him enough to form an opinion on his offensive game you probably have an opinion on his defensive game as well?

Is aggressive on defense with good hands. Has a sturdy body that allows him to play physical on both offense and defense. However his two main drawbacks hurt him the same on defense as they do on offense. Speed and size. He is easy to just pass or shoot over and does not have the lateral quickness to stay with high D1 talent. Devon Downey he is not. Just have never liked the whole package with Jenifer. I know he is coming here June 6th and the bearcats are going to take a PG in this class. I just see the other 3 guys mentioned as better players and better suited for the lead guard position. He has obviously been mentioning UC for quite some time in his recruitment but I think his peak interest is more because of his stock decreasing instead of increasing. Much rather get a player on their way up not down.

This has the feel of a JDIII recruitment. I haven't seen him play so I could be way off.

I get that Jenifer could be a solid 4 year player. And maybe the staff sees him as a leader and floor general. But Evans and Sanders can just do way more physically at the highest level. Evans is a blue chipper. I wouldn't be upset if we got Jenifer, but man these other guys are studs.

There are seven teams on the list of Evans that will not get Evans.

I hear ya. If we're bringing Jenifer in and offering him a scholarship, then I'm in. If the coaches think he's the PG they want, then I'm sure they have a nice plan for him.

I believe he was offered a while ago. If he wanted to, he could commit today.

Seems to me that the 2016 PG we offered yesterday is the Downey type PG that we believed or want Jenifer to be. Does anyone else see or feel the same?

You made it sound like in your post that we are just now going to be offering a scolly on his visit.

I guess I see how that read weird. When I said "if we're bringing him in and offering him a scholarship", I just meant basically if this is the route we're taking, then I'm in.
Just a lot to think about switching gears to 2015 this quickly. I know you were ssaying you think he'll commit during his visit, Jack doesn't like Jenifer the best, and I'd like to look at other PG as well. I was just surprised initially when you said he'd commit bc he just mentioned Texas Tech and Providence for the first time so I thought he'd visit there too. But if he wants to be a Bearcat that bad, I'll take him. That's all I was trying to say. Sorry for the mix up.

No sweat. I just thought you were implying UC wasn't necessarily on board with bringing him in, and I feel like they definitely are; it's up to Justin. There are always better options out there, but Cronin's been talking to him for a while now. I'll be very happy if he commits, but I agree that I hope it doesn't draw away from others. Luckily, a lot of other guys we're going after are SGs, so a 5'9" PG shouldn't really prevent them from coming here.
