I've seen him listed from NY and Connecticut. Has offers from Maryland, Providence, and Iona.

VCU, Providence, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati have contacted 2015 The City (NY) guard Donovan Mitchell in the last few hours.

As they usually are, Jason Smith's Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Prep squad is loaded with talent. On Saturday, the No. 105 player in the class of 2015 Donovan Mitchell introduced himself to the masses and looked like a kid who could work his way further up the rankings.

A 6-foot-2 New Yorker, Mitchell describes himself as simply a guard and that makes sense. He isn't really a true two, nor is he a true point. But, he's a perimeter playmaker on both ends of the floor with wild athleticism and a high basketball IQ.

Because of his big time athleticism, Mitchell is a highly entertaining finisher at the rim. He's a threat to dunk on people off the dribble and turns fastbreaks into highlight reel opportunities. But, he's not totally reliant on his athleticism. He reads defenses, can distribute the ball and is a highly alert and smart defender.

He finished with a solid line of 17 points, six steals and five boards while always staying under control. He has offers from Iowa, Connecticut, Maryland, Providence, Boston College, Cincinnati, St. John's and Seton Hall with many more looking. From the sounds of it, college programs view him as he views himself, just as a playmaking guard who you find a spot for in your lineup.

"Most coaches just feel like I'm a guard," said Mitchell. "I'm athletic, I can after it on defense and I play hard."

2015 @BrewsterHoops guard @spidadmitchell will take an unofficial to Cincinnati Monday, he tells @SNYtv

Bearcats are headed to Spokane today. Visit not happening and will have to be rescheduled. With Ronnie Johnson now in the mix not sure how that might affect the staff's plans for a pg in the 2015 class.

Donovan is a guard (more of a 2G than PG). His point guard was Jared Terrell, who the Cats recruited. Donovan Sr. is my patient (Dentist) and Jr. was until he was 8. He can play...he has serious hops and can shoot the 3. Really good in transition. Hopes he gets to UC for an "official".

Btw...I warned you guys how good SK would be 5 1/2 years ago. He went to my HS.

Likely to be rescheduled in the near future from what I heard. Both he and his parents are anxious to visit and it's a matter of timing not lack of interest.

Does Pitino just wait to see who Donovan and Mick are going after and then just recruit those guys? Seriously.

I don't think that at all. There are just a few coaches I hate recruiting against and Pitino is the main one.
That is because he is very good at what he does. Nothing wrong with facing good competition. It raises the bar and makes for better games. I'll miss Louisville being on our schedule. Always enjoyed when thay came to town. the games were always a war.

Offense is effortless for Donovan Mitchell (The City). 6-4 and deep range. Impact SG in 2015. Gets buckets --- at will. #PittJamFest

The Brewster (N.H.) Academy duo of Donovan Mitchell and Jarred Reuter have triggered a wave of recruiting interest following their performances this weekend at the Pitt JamFest.

Still, the 6-foot-3 Mitchell told SNY.tv Monday night that reports that certain schools are leading for him are inaccurate.

“The schools that offered me are the schools that are working the hardest because they’ve offered me and they talk to me the most,” Mitchell said.

He said that group included Boston College, Creighton, Providence, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Cincinnati, Iowa and Florida.

Asked if all those schools are equal, he said, “Yes, they are.”

Mitchell did say that he saw a trio of school at all of his games with The City this past weekend, when he averaged 19 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds

“The schools that I saw at all my games were BC, St. John’s and Providence,” he said. “It shows that they’re really interested, but their interest has been the same all year.”

Mitchell has no visits planned “as of yet,” but hopes to see “a few more schools during the summer.”

He may cut his list at the end of the summer.

“After the last live period, I will definitely look to cut down my list,” he said.

Mitchell’s Brewster teammate, 6-8 forward Jarred Reuter, has also picked up a slew of offers and interest, according to Brewster coach Jason Smith.

Smith Tweeted that Cincinnati, Minnesota, Northwestern, Seton Hall, South Carolina, Penn State and Temple had all shown interest in Reuter. Gonzaga and Temple have reportedly offered.

I see we have him listed as a PG, is that correct? I always saw him listed as a SG, but if he can play PG that's great. I'd love to get him and Beasley. Not sure either is a true PG though.

That's where Justin Jenifer would come in. He's been pretty high on us for a while.
