Went pretty much as expected. I've never seen Cumberland play other than small clips and highlight videos so this is more of first impressions more than anything. He quietly had a double double and no doubt showed he was the best player on the floor. He has a very solid, college ready build but I didn't see him use it much posting up and what not, I know he's a gaurd but I was hoping to see him fight through contact and demand the ball on the post more since he's so built, didn't see that. Other than that he has a nice smooth shot (needs to improve ft shooting) and is really solid as a guard. He showed great ball-handling ability as well as great passing. He was also very VERY good in man D (which is all Wilmington played) and should fit very well in our defense, so I was really happy to see that.

Overall, I was hoping to see more dominance on the offensive end, wasn't disappointed nor surprised, but I was a lot more impressed with his abilities as a guard and his defensive play.

Side note - Wilmington is an extremely good team, I have no idea how they lost one. I'd be shocked if they don't win state.

Thanks for the update.

To me he didn't look as interested in this one, I mean they where up 15-2 at the end of the first so I understand why he wasn't trying to absolutely dominate them as it was never really a game. He was clearly the best player out there and will be a great player here. Needs to work on moving better without the ball, but loved his vision sees court well seems to understand the game. College ready body, smooth scorer

Wilmington plays Lima senior Friday in the final 4 in Columbus.

That will be a good match up. Lima's stud PG Xavier Simpson was Jarron's teammate in AAU. He is a Devon Downey type pg who I wish Cronin would have went after. We desperately need a guy like Simpson who has the handles and speed to make an offense go.

I agree. They reportedly wanted to play together but we didn't even offer Simpson if I recall properly. I fear a Trey Burke situation again.

I know this was a couple weeks ago but Jarron played well in the Ohio Vs Kentucky All star game. Multiple players on each team going to high major colleges.

Jarron Lead Ohio in scoring and was the games MVP. He sunk some crucial free throws at the end apparently as well.

Always good to see him play well against other good players in his class. I think he is going to lead our team in free throw attempts in his Soph year
