Wooohoooo! Way to go mick!

I can't belive he landed this three star, unranked on 247, stud without a private jet. I mean beating out Illinois State, Murray State, Old Dominion and Stephen F. Austin is pretty special and clearly shows a lot of people were wrong on how well Mick has been recruiting the last few years.

Maybe wait until after the July evaluation period and the start of his senior season(you know, when they actually start ranking these kids a little more) before you act like a little child? or nah?

Nah, it's late enough for high major programs to offer kids. Fact is it's more of the same. UC has to live of these kinds of kids. Put enough of them together and play defense and you can go in as an eight or nine seeds and go home the first weekend.

If people want to get hype about a kid Mick snags from such a horrible offer list, then so be it. Those are the same people who stick out their chests about being a 8 or 9 seed and winning one NCAA tourney game in four years.

So 80% of this board will be thrilled with this pick-up.

Guess you missed the part where he led the entire AAU circuit in 3 point percentage. And that he is only 16 with lots of room to grow. Or we could go get another Jermaine Lawrence , Biggie or shaq Thomas. They were highly ranked with big offer sheets

Id also be willing to bet he will be ranked when its all said and done. If you can shoot, and shoot as well as he has shown he is capable of you can help out at the D1 level from day 1. You say 80% of the board is thrilled with this pickup. Yes, because we need shooters, and weve needed them for awhile and now we finally have a guy that has proven he is in fact a shooter and low and behold someone comes to complain because hes not ranked so that must mean he actually cant shoot. Here we go with the rankings mean everything again

Clark, Cumberland, Evans, Broome, Washington. But Mick can't recruit.

If you can't see that the quality of kids coming into the program is improving; i can't help you.

You ever hear of a guy named Sean Kilpatrick? He did pretty decent here

I can certainly understand being a tad unsure about a kid that hasn't been all that highly sought-after, but to write him off or rip the staff for landing him is ridiculous and insanely premature. That's really all I have to say on that front.

If some think we need to be getting higher ranked recruits, I understand. And I agree in a lot of ways. Definitely don't think that's nonsense. You're free to have that opinion. But out of the scholarships we give out, not every kid we get will have powerhouses knocking down their door. In some situations, we gotta dig deep to find a certain skill set. I'm just glad we got him for 2 reasons: 1. We need shooters. Always have under Cronin. Well, he's a shooter. So there ya go. And 2. Savino has landed shooters from FL and TX in the past couple years, even though he's primarily been a northeast guy. I like to see him branching out. And based on how Cobb panned out, I trust his instincts. Plus this guy is 6'5" and will be around twice as long as Cobb. Doesn't mean I'm ok with every recruit being off the radar. But realistically, that's how some of them will be.

If you look at the videos, there is no way he is 6'5". Funny how all these recruits show up on campus 2 inches shorter than they actually are. Sure hope he can shoot a very high percentage from 3 because he looks very one dimensional.

Not sure how you can accurately make that assumption. (Him not looking 6'5)

Then the video I watched must be from 8th grade. Looks like a good shooter who is short and not very athletic. Did they test his vertical during his visit? Just curious. Hoping he can defend on the wing.

Typically just do height, weight and wingspan during the tour of the weight room...
