The only thing I call out mick for personally is how after a loss he blames the players yet after a win he credits himself.

I highly doubt many if any people on this board have ever lost an argument to someone who believes Mick Cronin is a Top 10 coach in the history of college basketball as evidenced by your signature

Mick has thrown his players under the bus at times, however, there have been many times he has taken the blame for losses. I've never heard him take credit for a win. Maybe he credits the staff, but not himself.

I have heard Mick take blame for a lot after loses.

He doesnt sugar coat anything. If someone didnt play well he is very open about it.

I hate a coach who bullshits you. Mick talks to dan and chuck on the radio like he would at a bar by themselves.

You guys are giving way to much time to the idiot who said, MC throws his players under the bus. This is a old slur started a couple of years ago by the we hate anything MC club. Never has a player, current or former went public with a comment saying the coach didn't stand behind them.

Another Biggest game of the year Thursday. Aside from being a game if won could secure are NCAA invitation. For us oldtimers Louisville is a huge rival and is currently tied with us in the BE Standings. We also will have our number 1 recruiting target in attendance. Cats need to seize the moment.

Once again you are wrong in your analysis. Mick rarely does that.

That's not always a good thing, IMO.

I like Mick but he's pretty annoying to listen to after a loss. Not much ownership of his mistakes. He does criticize his players as well. I don't think criticizing his players is always bad. Sometimes it can motivate (i.e. Phil/Kobe). But when Mick coaches a poor game (i.e. Marquette), listening to him is like nails on a chalkboard.

Then again, not a lot of coaches say "I made a mistake putting us in a zone. I made a mistake taking Cash out of the game. I made a mistake not going at Crowder to get his third."

What would happen if he did, the public would say...why's this guy making so many freaking mistakes? And then demand his job.

All this being said, I'm close to rage a lot of the time with Mick's post-loss quotes/press conferences.

It's also tough to listen to anyone talk after a loss :)

He does and you know it.

We have 5 wins vs winning teams and it could easily go to four if Pitt collapses @Pitt(15-13), ND (19-8), GTown (20-6), UConn (17-10), Seton Hall (19-9). We have an opportunity to win 3 more vs teams with winning records (UL, Marquette, USF). Win 2/3 and don't lay an egg vs Nova and we are in!

Wow that does sound bad...Solid wins against UCONN, SH, GTown, and ND sounds pretty good. After that we can only add Pitt (and NW St.) as a winning team we've beaten? That's awful. But you're right, we've missed opportunities the whole season. This team does seem focused down the stretch so far. 2 and we need BE tournament help; 3 and we're feeling very good. They can't turn down a top 5 or 6 Big East team right??

If we look at our potential for that 4th seed double bye in the BE tourney it may be wishful thinking BUT...

If we win out (unlikely I know)...we would just need GT to lose one game or ND two games (and they do play each other). Not sure how the tie breaker would work with MU (but they would have to at least lose one other game besides to us).

But if we go 3-1 (more likely) including wins over USF and UL...we own the tie breaker over all teams above us or tied except SYR and MU. If we go 3-1 we can't be caught from behind. Then all we would need would be two things...for GT to go 2-2 or worse from here. GT has an away game with MU and a home game with ND left. USF would also have to go 2-2 or worse but we would give them one of those losses. USF has 4 tough games left.

Of course there are other less likely scenarios...and we are by no means a lock to win 3 games. Just something to watch for if we get off to a hot start from here:)

I am hoping for 4-0 but with the GT loss 3-1 just became a lot more of a reality in terms of earning the double bye. We have to beat UL and USF and win one other game. Then GT and USF would have to lose just one more game each. GT plays MU away and ND home. USF should struggle to go 2-2 with it's remaining games.
