Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew what our non-conference schedule was looking like for next season? Are we in any big tournaments? Has anything at all come out on who we might be playing? After this season I am very curious, and I just saw that Xavier added Vandy, So i figure there must be some information out there

Here is what we know so far. We are not in a big time preseaon tournament.

Jacksonville St.* (Global Sports Shootout)
Alabama St.* (Global Sports Shootout)
Northwestern St.* (Global Sports Shootout)
Marshall* (Global Sports Shootout) (11/25)
@Xavier
vs. Oklahoma (US Bank Arena)
Big East/SEC Invitational (rumored to be @ Kentucky)
@Wright St.
Miami

That is 9 of our 13 games. We are looking to add one more major to the schedule. The rest will be guarantee games.

If we can add one more attractive game I would be pleased with the OCC assuming the rest of the games are teams are 200 rpi or lower.

I hope we are able to get another high major (top 25) team because if we don't get kentucky, but instead another average middle of the road SEC team we will encounter the same thing we did this year...a major lack of respect especially nationally which this program cannot handle. Especially with the amount of talent are team will have next year, recruits need to see us!

I heard UK or Ole Miss. I would like two high profile games and all games to be against teams in the top 175 rpi. The league is brutal but you need to be prepared. I think last seasons early conf struggles were an indication of that. With 6 newcomers they need to face tough teams in tough environments.

We can't afford buy games for teams that are in the top 175. We might be able to afford one of the three we still have left at most.

I think three of the four teams in the event we are playing in had solid RPIs last year, so hopefully that is the case next year.

Kentucky is going to be stacked, but I would still really like to see that game. Ole Miss doesn't do a lot for me.

Hopefully we can get one other solid team. They don't have to be in the top 25, but NCAA worthy would be nice.

Tommy G did an interview w/ Mick today. At some point either during or before the interview Mick indicated that we will be on the road in the Big East/SEC Invitational and the opponent will either be UK, Vandy, Alabama, or Auburn. He said that we would know for sure by next week.

I watched the interview. He said there may be another possibility or two but he wasn't sure.

I would be very happy with UK, Vandy or Alabama.

Anyone know about Toledo? Were they a home and home or was it a 2 for 1? If it was a 2 for 1 they probably will come here as well.

anyone know when the schedule will be finalized?

I know it doesn't get much nat publicitybc a lot of the media thinks all conf schedules are the same but frankly thats the furthest thing from the truth. which teams we get 2x in conf matters alot, as well as which teams we get home and who we go on the road against.

12 games are automatically decided:

Home- Pitt, Villanova, Syracuse, Marquette, Notre Dame, Providence
Away- Louisville, South Florida, Rutgers, West Virginia, Seton Hall, UCONN
TBD- St. Johns, DePaul, Georgetown, 3 mirror games

This schedule figures to be good for this team. They have the weaker teams on the road and the better teams at home (relatively speaking in this league, still play @UL and UCONN). Hope we can make it a yearly mirror with UL for the future since we are "back"
