This series will not be cancelled, nor will it even be considered. College sports is $$$ and this game is a guaranteed sellout. Measures will be taken to make sure the officiating doesn't allow players to get out of hand and the universities will do something to make sure the student sections don't get out of hand. Also highly doubt the series will be moved to nuetral location. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that a half X, half UC crowd would lead to further issues.

And I agree with the previous poster that hopefully our players will now take this game more seriously and play their best for the chance to beat X. This is where having returning players handing down tradition comes into play.

Not really. That may have been the case 20 years ago. X is much more interested in winning in the ncaa tournament than winning the shootout. If they both happen, just an added bonus.

While you guys are worried about playing against, Fordum, Rhode Island ect.... (I could go on, about how bad the Atlantic 10 is compared to the Big east, not to mention Temple is going to the Big East/ your conferences best team.) We have to play against Loiusville, Goergetown, Uconn, Marquette..... ETC...

No doubt the Big East is better than the A10; no one with half a brain is arguing that. But playing the Crosstown Shootout as "all X cares about and UC has better things to worry about" is ignorant to the point of being absurd. This isn't 15 years ago. Both teams care extensively about the game, but also realize it does not define an entire season.

Alright. I mis spoke in saying that it was X's entire season. It is a bigger deal to them than it is to us and that's because they play in a dog shit conference. By the end of the season, the X game is long forgotten because we've played several top 25 teams, as opposed to X.

Doesnt define an entire season?????????????????????????????????????

What did u hear about both teams all year long from commentators ......... "cincy has been doing great since the brawl at xavier, that game definately turned their season around "

or

"Xavier since the Brawl has been horrible and they havn't seemed to bounce back"

Thats definitely defined both of the teams seasons with out a doubt.

Complete misinterpretation. Of course a fight is going to be talked about the entire season. I was talking about winning or losing the game.

Woah woah woah..... I live in New Hampshire and the reason why I have liked the bearcats since I was five years old is because of what you just described, I love the fact that we are a tough, routy, defensive, physical, high fllying team.
I dont want to be like duke in the way they are saints and never can do something bad. I loved the way yancy stood up for Guyn when he got pushed down to the floor. If you saw your brother get pushed like guyn did would you have just said hey hey break it up. I would go up to the guy that pushed my brother down and punched him in the face. We sit here and critisize yancy for that punch, but come on where is the line? We want them to be close like a family but they can't act like a family in the way they want to protect their teammate/(brother) Thats passion and thats what makes sports so great.

Incorrect. Eggsavior does not deserve to be on the same court as uc. Just a disgusting school that is completely corrupt from the top on down.

either way you put it, this is a big game for both programs and everyone knows it, xaviers non conference is a lot bigger for them then cincy's is, so its definitely more important to xavier because, as seen in this season if cincy loses that game, they can then beat louisville, goergetown, syracuse, marquette, uconn, notre dame..... where xavier doesn't have that many chances to prove themselves in conference play.

Awesome. Now Ralph is asking himself questions on here.

If the decision is solely up to Mick the game will be canceled. However, the decision may be out of Mick's hands because of politics and ESPN may be willing to write a big check to TV the game in hopes of another brawl.

As I said, if Mick gets this game canceled I will lose a lot of respect for him. It's a pretty cowardly thing to do.

I would be disappointed if it got canceled. Playing next year, despite what will the annoying weeks of build-up and showing the same fight clips over and over, it put the last season's game to rest and show both sides have moved on.

Since we live in the arcane world of the RPI and are subjected to much scrutiny over the non-conference SOS, Xavier actually helps in that regard. They should at least be a top 100 RPI team.
