What has become clear to me this season is that Cashmere is the team's MVP. Sean is fantastic and a great scorer but without Cash, this team would be in deep deep trouble.

To that end, who do people think the 2013 PG will be? G'lawn obviously would get the first crack at it but I was wondering if we thought one of next year's freshmen might be a possibility. Or JDIII I guess.

It will probably be Guyn's to lose. I'm sure Kevin Johnson will get some PT to prove himself (15-ish min a game), so if Guyn isn't working out and Johnson is getting the job done, it might be that simple. I agree with that as well, just for now though. I'm not sure Guyn has what it takes long-term, but I'd rather he be in there than a mid-level freshman prospect.

next year's PG position has been a major concern for me...i absolutely love Guyn's defensive skills, but he has not shown me anything offensively to make me feel comfortable with him taking over Cash's role...i have always thought Davis had the skill set/style to play the PG position...it will be interesting but the questions make me nervous...

Go Bearcats!

I was hoping Mick would stick Caupain at PG right from the start so he could grow into it for 4 years. Dude gets to the FT line and makes them at a high rate. UC needs someone like that running the game.

I'm really excited about this recruiting class. My expectations are low for them as freshman, but in 3 years, look out.

Would not surprise me to see Caupain get time at the point next season. Smart and a good passer who can get in the lane and to the ft line and hit them.

Yeah, I'm hoping for that.

Just hoping we don't have 4 years between PG recruits in the future though. Kids should be watching a lot of UC basketball last year and this year. And they get to see the freedom Cash/SK/Parker have on the court. I would think that any guard that wants to play big time basketball and isn;t afraid of playing defense would love to play for Mick. A nice deep run in the tourney again would help. Elite 8 or better I believe....matchup dependent as always.

If SK leaves, I could see mick subbing almost like hockey, where you have lines that you play at one time together, to keep their legs fresh,(sub 3 in at a time) and have people on the court who are used to playing with one another, if he were to do this, it would be much easier to press he whole game.

I think Cash and SK are equally important to this team. SK completely took over the game in the second half on Wednesday. When we need to create a last second shot we need the ball in Cash's hands. Cash's long range and accuracy at the 3 line could be a devastating tool for the Bearcats in tight games in the closing seconds.

Next year at PG is a big concern for me. I really like what Johnson brings to the table and am excited to see what he can do with some time on the floor.

Guyn is obviously the pg Mick has in mind. I'm concerned as most are on here about him running the show. I'm hoping one of the freshman can step up if Guyn doesn't show capable of handling it. I think next year could be a tough year, but I still think we'll be competitive. Depends too if Kilpatrick comes back. I'm running on the assumption that he will be gone. If he comes back I wouldn't be completely surprised to see him run the point at some point out of necessity.

If we get Lawrence, then we could be a sweet 16 team, if not, then I think we make the tourney and not much more/ although I could see having Rubles and Jackson down-low at the same time be nice, although we would lose some height, they will be way more athletic than any other bigs they play. Next year its really all about how the new guards are play, because Jermaine sanders right now looks nervous or something out there, I know he's a much better player than he has show, (some people just don't play well in-front of people) Shaq can be good for us I think as well, but both he and jermaine, everytime they touch te ball it seems like the hesitate and almost travel, I think both of them have nerves right now, and hopefully more playing time will change that for them, but in order for us to be competive next year, both of them need to step up, because SK is definitely going pro, and he should, he deserves it, and he is getting old haha.

Is a great college basketball player but I just dont see him going in the first round. Still needs to develop his ball handling. Needs to be able to finish around the rim more effectively. I think with the bearcats finally on the rise in terms of their national presence SK will be high on a lot of national player of the year lists next season. He has himself a huge year and then he can cash in with being drafted in the first round. I obviously don't know any of the personal reasons why he would stay or go but just based on his basketball skill I think another year would definitely be beneficial for his stock. Which lets be honest that's what its all about. The higher you are drafted the more money you make which makes you more important to the team. So many careers never realized and money left on the table because the player leaves college too early. If personal circumstances don't force his hand then I think he should definitely return for his senior season....

He does not have the athleticism to play in the NBA yet. He is straight up not ready for the league. That being said, he is going on 25 years old and if someone tells him he would be a 2nd round pick making 200k, I wouldn't blame him for leaving. Bottomline, nothing would shock me.

I tend to think he isn't ready either, but mock drafts have him as an early 2nd rounder. But at the same time, I don't think sticking around for a senior season would do much for him. I think he'd have a very similar season to this one. If he's averaging 20 ppg, statistically, would he really improve next year?

SK SHOULD go if he is able to..

Lets be very real about SK. Hes a college stud. He can score the ball. Sure other areas of his game have improved (defense, a little dribbling). But if we are being completely honest he is not an NBA guy. Plain and simple.

One, hes getting old. Nearly 24 years old. Two, he doesn't have the size nor the athletic ability to play at that level.

SK will get drafted, bounce around the league here and there and finally end up making good money and being a hell of an overseas player.

Completely agree. People always seem to think it matters whether a player is ready or not as to if he will leave early. If you have a chance to get drafted and paid most will leave.
