Honestly,

Chad Brendel sounds kinda bitter that he was banned from these boards. He called Bearcattalk a "shitty free board" because someone posted something that he made open to anyone with a computer. That's not exactly the proper way to handle a situation like that...

Which he didnt post another member did. Which is not proof of where he got the info from. So you can get the F out of here with that nonsense. I also said if he got it from a source that was not VIP that it was a different story and defended him posting it.

If Mack wants out Tennessee is a perfect fit. Out of the new terrible Beast, more money, more administration support and keeps his recruiting ties. If im a muskie im nervous all over again.

Its not that they are butthurt if you share the link. More than likely they WANT you to share the link. It will get more viewers to the site and more viewers in turn will mean more subscriptions. I think its more along the lines of not siting chad(if this is where you get your information from) and not giving him credit for the work he and others do. People trust chad, even if some dont like it.

Best post of this whole ethics debate. If Chad gives info out to paying members, he knows that naturally, they are gonna tell others. Even if it isn't on a free board, word will travel quickly by mouth. With how fast info spreads these days, you can't assume anything to be kept a secret. Crediting your source with a link is about as fair as one can expect people to be in this digital age, this is what people are upset about. Bearcatboy, put a link in your posts, then you won't have to deal with this backlash. If it means waiting until you have access to a desktop, that is fine, this is a free site.

I wasn't aware of the technical rule handbook of posting info that anyone and their brother could of read. He gave Chad as the source and 10 min later someone posted the link. After the link was posted people including yourself continued to attack the guy instead of clicking the link and seeing holy crap I can read this too oh wait I'm not a VIP member what's going on here.

Definitely seems like a downgrade. Plus, I dont see anything tying him to the west coast. He isnt from there, never played or coached out there, hasnt signed recruits from there. Seems strange.

The Tennessee fans were obsessed with Bruce Pearl and were not giving Martin a chance to win them over. All of his players at Tennessee are actually happy for him that he got a new job elsewhere and that is something you rarely see.

They had a 7'1 3-star center that literally committed to UT yesterday, decommitted a couple hours ago, then immediately committed to Cal. Crazy stuff.

This site has taken a turn for the worse the past week or so.

I respect Chad and what he does and the info he gets, but lets be realistic here. He makes money off selling information. He seems to have the best sources for UC basketball and kudos to him, but I highly, highly, highly doubt anyone gives him any information without the knowledge that he makes money off selling that information. My point being anything told to him that he shares is not told in confidence. I'm sure he is ethical about sharing information his sources do not want to be public so anything he posts in my opinion is fair game from his sources standpoint. I doubt anyone gives him info saying, "Hey this doesn't need to get out to anybody but you, I and anybody willing to pay $9.95 a month to you." Anybody who does pay for his info imo has the right to do whatever they want to with the info. You're not buying it because it's a secret. Unless they sign some sort of confidentiality clause by signing up. With that said, people should always reference him if they got the info from him. People pay for his info because alot of times he gets it confirmed first. Once he posts it one way or the other it becomes public knowledge. In this case, Bearcatboy used him as his source so I see no problem with it. You might consider it unethical in the sense that you are limiting his ability to make money in that less people will sign up knowing that they can get the info 30 minutes later when someone shares it, but honestly that kind of comes with the territory.
