Wow, lot to process here. Amazing we wait and wait and wait and then everything happens at once. I'm guessing Ellis was signed because Mick knew Lawrence wanted out. Either way we have to trust Mick. I will say he is taking a risk in bringing back a guy in Ellis that he kicked off the team. If Ellis messes up it is on Mick. With that said, I know there was probably more than what we heard that went on with Ellis but I thought he got a bum deal in that whole nightclub incident. It seemed fairly clear the bouncer either fabricated the story or completely baited our players to cause trouble for the bar. I welcome Ellis back and just hope he takes good advantage of this opportunity.

Now someone straighten me out. One, I assume Ellis is a junior now? Two, I'm confused on Cobb's story. Was he kicked off his team and then went to juco or was he kicked off the juco team? Is he a junior and eligible immediately?

I'm failing to see how any of those 3 sentences relate to anything.

Lawrence was hurt a big chunk of last year and Rubles was just flat out a much better player and if you can't see how much he did for us then your self-proclaimed "eye" for talent is a bit blurry.

Why would you force a guy to stay if he doesn't want to be here especially considering how big Mick is on team chemistry.

And what does Madison Square Garden have to do with anything right now? Are you saying Lawrence is leaving school to go join the Knicks?

Just think first dude that's all. I know somewhere in there in your head your ideas and thoughts are good but you start spewing your word vomit and your intended meaning gets all jumbled.
85% came here to play in MSG. Not specifically saying Lawrence but he is from NY. He wasn't hurt to start year and he's already been told next year by Mick he has green light. Why wait a season? I'll take the over on him avg 5pts&5rbs in 30 min of play. Rubles had a hell of a year but we would've been better starting Lawrence and rubles off bench. You didn't notice that starting rubles caught up to us in tourney? You flat out can't start guyn, rubles, and Jackson together and expect to go deep in tournament.

Both are juniors and both are immediately eligible. Cobb was kicked off his team as a frosh. Then went Juco for a year.

I agree that starting Rubles and Guyn made it tough...but I would've started Caupain over Guyn before Lawrence over Rubles.

Quite the contradictory statement right there.

What on earth did Lawrence do to show he should have started? Just because he was a 5 star recruit? We would have been in some deep shit if we gave Lawrence starter-type minutes last year. Yeah, Titus was limited offensively but he did a lot of good things for us.

both juniors that can play immediately. Cobb, went Chattanooga first then went juco. Had an underage drinking charge so that might led to getting kicked off.

Lawrence was an undersized and inexperienced freshman and he was a fouling machine. No way he could've/would've started last year nor should've. He simply wasn't ready. He most times was the first off the bench which says alot about what Mick thought of him and his potential. When he was in there, he showed flashes of why he could be good, defensively and in his ball skills (even though he lost the ball alot and wasn't strong enough to finish he showed the potential that one day he would be). Rubles unfortunately just couldn't put the ball in the basket, but his on-the-floor leadership and defense were irreplacable on last year's roster. There is more to basketball than the ability to fill out a you-tube highlight reel. And to be perfectly honest if Lawrence had shown he were better than Rubles I have no doubt he would've seen the floor over Rubles.

pretty much any average big man could get u 6&6 with 30+min. Lawrence had skills to go with potential just never really looked comfortable out there. To be honest NOBODY on our team looked comfortable out there besides seniors. If Lawrence was only averaging 6pts 6rbs as a senior that would be disappointment. One way or the other in my opinion Mick made HUGE mistake not starting TC or Lawrence.

Why would Mick start a guy who in your own words wasn't comfortable on the floor?

how is he undersized? LOL he's the biggest in height and weight after big Dave on team. Stop being blind rubles and Jackson got there butt kicked when we played real deal average centers. Once again rubles still would've got starter minutes but for offense and confidence I would've started Lawrence. Not saying he was always going to be on.court to finish game though, that's where I need rubles leadership and defense.

Shaq and guyn wasn't NEVER comfortable. Nobody on team was outside of seniors. You gain confidence by playing not sitting on bench. I hate to say it but sometimes you got to give big babies milk.

In terms of strength he was undersized. True that Jackson and Rubles got outmatched by some big/strong guys, but that is where Strickland was supposed to factor in not Lawrence. Lawrence was not brought in because he could outbang some bigs.

To the second bolded part, you give the starting nod to the guy who has those abilities. Lawrence was a fouling machine. I won't bother to look it up, but I imagine he averaged a foul every 3 to 4 minutes of playing time. He was not ready plain and simple. We all wish Rubles was better offensively but had Lawrence been given 25-30 minutes a game not only would he have fouled out long before he made it to those minutes played he would'nt have been anymore effective than Rubles getting killed out on the floor. Lawrence got ample opportunity in key stretches of the game (not just garbage time) to prove himself and didn't. If we were good enough to start we would've seen that in his production when he did play.

Wrong. Kilpatrick was the heaviest player on the team according to Mick at the Banquet.

Rubles had 14 boards vs Louisville. I don't think it was close between Rubles and Lawrence starting. Rubles was a captain. He may have been limited but his experience, court vision, rebounding and FT shooting were all way ahead of Lawrence.

I can agree to that, but at the same time if you're not comfortable and you are getting hammered and making mistakes you can hang your head and lose confidence even more. Shaq has struggled with this.

58 fouls in 391 mins. 6.7 mins/foul
