Ok so I'm pretty sure I've said this before on here, but to anyone that is concerned about Ellis returning based on the fact that he was kicked off the team before, you probably shouldn't be. That dismissal happened because of an off the court incident (the club fight or whatever) that not many people know the details of, and it came at a very delicate time for the program after the Xavier fight. I've heard from a reliable source that someone had to go and Ellis got the short stick on that one. I'm really glad he's getting a second chance.

I'm not worried at all about his character. I don't think Mick would bring him back if there was anything to be concerned about.

If not for the X fight, I don't think Ellis gets kicked off the team for the incident at the night club. He was the fall boy.

At this point, I don't think anyone can accurately predict who will get minutes, who will score, etc. I'm not sure even Mick knows. Adding another wing/guard would make the roster a little more balanced imo.

Who knows- that may be the case- he still very well could have gotten booted because he made a lot of poor decisions his only year at UC. Being the guy outside of Yancy in the fight who was throwing the most visible punches (although none were landed) certainly didn't help his public perception though. Regardless, Ellis had a difficult time adjusting to college life and the structure/expectations of high major college basketball. He was warned numerous times that he only had 1 more strike and still managed to get himself in a fight. Yes, he may have been provoked, but he still put himself in that position being at a downtown club underage. He put himself in a bad position despite having only 1 strike remaining.

Regardless, he left and has been begging to come back for a long time now. I think his time away did him some good and taught him the value of his opportunity.

Coaches said Ellis was a model student didn't have any problems outside if the 2 incidents we all know about

Goodness sakes folks. Ellis was in a bar fight. No one was injured. Since his absence he has had no issues. He has earned his second chance. I have been in at least 5 bar altercations in my life and at least 10 shoving matches in pick up games alone. I'd say being asked to leave a destination you wanted and earning your way back is certainly a positive rather then a negative. Hope the kid has a great season. He paid for his mistake. If they kicked every student out who was in a club or drinking under age no one would graduate.

As for Lawrence hate to see him go but it certainly is his right. Like everyone on here I enjoy sports and want the Cats to do well but in the grand scheme of things playing Basketball is a distant second to what these kids accomplish with the education they earn. The fact that nothing has been reported to athletic department leads me to believe there is some indecision or disagreement by Lawrence or some one in his inner circle regarding his decision to leave. Hope the kid gets some good advice and makes the best decision for his future. If I had to guess someone close to him has raised the issue that he is being played out of position in Mick's scheme? In HS he was much more of a perimeter player, was not a guy who over powered opponents. Here he is playing inside and is being asked to play some with his back to the hoop. If I had to guess someone is trying to convince him his game is similar to Kevin Durant and he belongs on the wing. In his recruitment he came to UC for style and because he needed to get tougher. Hope he makes the right decision.

#WVU Coach Bob Huggins announces Terry Henderson will transfer: “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Averaged 12 points, and shot 37.6% from three this year and 40% from three last year. Yet another Huggy player that left the program. Of the 13 recruits signed from '10-'12, 10 have either transferred out or never made it to campus. Some things never change.

NTS, you think Huggys Job could be a issue if things don't turn around this year?

So back to the drawing board. Still have a scholly another guard/wing would be great.

Stewart
Schneider
Martin?

I would be ecstatic if we could add Stewart. I don't think Shreiner is a possibility anymore. Who knows if Martin is a real possibility. Andrew White is out there but not sure if we will get involved.

I'm sure there will also be a couple other transfers as schools finish up their semesters as well.

Shreiner tweeted 2 days ago he knows where he will be playing basketball next year but has not announced it yet so I don't think it's UC.

If Edwards is 2015 then that could mean Martin for 2014-15. Wonder what happen with Stewart

I am one of the people that thinks there is zero chance of Martin coming here. There are a few obvious reasons and I just don't see it. I don't mind to be wrong but..yeah lol

Makes cents for him not to come, but would it be better to be here (Edwards) redshirt and practice with team or go to prep school. There has to be a reason to leave it open.

Former Tennessee commit PG Larry Austin to Xavier. Not to excited about this. The kid can play.
