2018 General Recruiting

I will say the 2018 class is extremely important. A nice tourney appearance might help us when you throw in a newly renovated arena.

I agree, next two years we should make some real noise in the tourney, we've got some more good recruits next year, gotta follow that up with a killer class the year after

Saw this on twitter from a Corry Evans: Cincinnati was in today at Orlando Christian Prep for four-star junior Nassir Little & lead guard Rondo Segu

Nassir has come up a couple times for us. He is a big time player if we could land him.

He mentions us In almost every interview. So that's a good sign

Markquis Nowell who is the point guard on Keith Williams highscool team looks really good, I've watched a lot of there games and he is a good player, he's small but we will be looking for a pg in this class. He's rated 140 with a 91 overall rating on rivals so I wouldn't be shocked if we offered.

I've watched like 4 of Keith Williams team games. Everytime I said I would love to have a PG like Nowell. He plays fearless and would be the kind of guard who would succeed in a motion style offense.

From the Phenom Hoop Report article:

Player Description: "I would describe myself as an all-around player that can score in many different ways, also defend and rebound. Basically just help my team win in any way possible. But the best part of my game is the multiple ways I can score."

Phenom Hoops Take: Brazdeikis is a special kind of player that can play multiple positions on the floor. Like he said, he can score in so many ways, it is tough to find a matchup against him. He has a smooth shot from anywhere on the court and spreads the defense beyond the arc. He also can compete on the boards with his 6'8 body. What programs have to like is the way this young man moves with and without the ball. There is no doubt that he is one of the top players in his class.

A white guy that would actually get minutes at UC? I don't believe it! Haha

His team plays in the same OSBA(league) as Eliel Nsoseme and beat them- It( Orangeville) has produced Thon Maker and Jamal Murray and others.

Would love to have a good couple years, couple wins in the tourney each year, a good class in 2018, and really get this program rolling

I would take this kid in a heart beat. He could be a matchup nightmare. Not to mention, be able to get his shot off over most players.

Agreed. We can finally put to rest the argument one way or another how much the new arena will help Mick's recruiting.

Not so fast. The groundwork has already been laid to simply switch the argument to landscape if we don't see a bump :).

Seriously though, this 2018 class should be pretty good. Coach has us in a very good position to sustain a conference champion level of success. You can rack up a LOT of wins over the course of your career here.

I mean, if you really think everything will be answered with one class, so be it. Seems like an overreaction, but to each his own.

If I'm a versatile 4, and I see what Clark was able to do here, I'm committing to UC in a second. Going to be a great opportunity for someone.
