With our final scholarship used up for 2017 and all the Bragg chatter now off the board it's time to really focus on 2018 recruiting. I think we need the following with the number one priority listed first:

PG..Big time recruit that can be a possible starter for 3 years.

A PF or C with some serious talent around the basket.

SF/SG...Depending if Keith Williams will be a SF or SG I don't think it matters but always good to get some shooters and athleticism in especially if JE doesn't return after his JR. year.

Trevor Moore/Cumberland/Brooks are a few names that committed during the July months going into their senior year. I think we will start hearing some chatter on some serious names in the next month or 2.

When was Evans?

I feel like we do need a couple 4 star/ top 100 guys in this class. Besides Williams, the 2017 looks like mainly role player guys. I could be wrong, I hope they turn out great.

Agree, PG is top priority in 2018, then maybe a 4

Bragg

Nick McDermott was in my shop today, we were talking about Bragg. There was interest with Creighton early on but his dad pulled the plug on him because he had trouble in his past and they had a player who got in trouble early this year did not need any more marks. Nick said might not be the best place for him ASU . Maybe Cronin had moved on also. Just a thought.

Really hoping for a big class here with PG, PF, and wing. We should have a lot of momentum on the court and a brand spanking new arena experience to pitch to recruits. If we can't capitalize on this class in a big way I am not sure we will under Cronin. We have been able to get one fairly significant recruit per class but I think we should aim for at least 2 out of 3 here to be top 100's...it would be nice to get all 3. Top 25 ranking in class at a minimum.

This season on the court and the recruiting class will go a long way for me in determining what type of level we can reach under Cronin. Can he reach the elite status or is very good his plateau?

Last season was a nice step up but in the end we still were not able to beat elite teams. We need to be able to beat elite teams. 1-5 we are going to be extremely solid this year. We shouldn't have any major weakness in the starting lineup. We need to keep replacing our elite talent if we want to maintain and hopefully improve.

This is the first year going into a season I feel we have the ability to be elite because of our talent 1-5. We will lose 2 talented BIGS and need to replace at least one with talent on offense. We can be decent with the old standby of having an athletic big to block shots and rebound but it's been too much fun having guys down low who can score.

We can win with an elite PG and a solid athletic big...but we don't have the type of elite guards (Lonzo Ball etc) to be able to get by without one IMO. I think we have pretty good wing talent right now for a couple more years...so that is not a necessity. I don't think we will lose a wing to NBA or graduation after this year. We will have two senior PG's after this year meaning we have to start planning for their departure. On the wing we might be OK for a little while but always nice to keep adding talent there.

If we can land a top 100 PG and BIG I will be extremely happy and hopeful.

With Williams and Cumberland on the books for the next few years my first priority is a scoring Big. Thats my 1st and 2nd priority. After that Brendan Adams or another PG

I couldn't agree more. I'm fine with the stuff that has been going on and have been extremely happy on the recruits and team. I think our success has been great too but it's time for some bigger recruits with what we have to offer with a new arena and a lot of playing time at the PG and possible big. At least a top PG needs to be signed. This is all of course assuming we aren't going to get a transfer for 2018.

I would probably agree

1. Scoring big

2. Premier PG

3. Quality wing

Agree. No more 2 star projects. Need to get kids like X is getting who are coming in with very good basketball skills. Can't afford to give scholly's away just to find practice players.

It's really hard to reach the elite status as a program without getting atleast some top teir recruits. Definetly would like to take that next step

you would have to go back to 2013 and Jamaree Strickland for their last 2 star recruit.

I don't want to make this seem like it's easy by any means. Cronin has built his program on program guys.

After this year we will need a high quality scoring big. A one and doner would be perfect until you realize we have to replace him the following year. Calipari (and others) can do that...we can't. I would love to get to the point we could just dabble in that market.

So we have to play in the 4 star market for high quality recruits that might play 2-3 years. That is a very tough competitive market. We don't seem to be willing to dive into the grad transfer market so it's even tougher. I think it might be necessary though.

Then we have the 3 star diamond in the rough guys. If you are good enough at evaluating...you are golden...but these things don't always work out.

In summation. If you get one and doners you have to be able to replace them and it's the toughest market. If you try for the 4 star market...every legit team is looking at them. 3 star market you have to be extremely good at evaluating but they may need time to develop.

I don't wish I was Cronin. I think he has done a very good job given his conference affiliation. I just think we need to look more at one and doners and grad transfers to compliment our rosters any given year and sell the opportunity like we are making the pitch of our lives.

Outside of that it's very easy...lol!

Way too early and I'm sure tons more names will come up, but Days, Little, and Adams would be a class I'd be thrilled about.
