As I mentioned in the other thread, we are one month away from the conference tournament. This is what the current bracket would look like. I will add to this thread if anything should change.

(1) Tulsa 10-1
(8) East Carolina 3-7 / (9) Central Florida 2-9

(4) Temple 8-3
(5) Memphis 6-4

(3) Cincinnati 8-3
(6) Connecticut 6-4 / (11) South Florida 1-10

(2) Southern Methodist 10-2
(7) Tulane 4-7 / (10) Houston 1-9

Tie-Breakers:
* Cincinnati currently holds tie-breaker over Temple due to head-to-head
*Memphis currently holds tie-breaker over Connecticut due to better win percentage vs Cincinnati (1-0 vs 1-1)

I will be in Vegas for this! Cannot wait. Even though last time I went to Vegas for conference tournament weekend, the West Va/De'Sean Butler shot happened the first night there (I had the UC moneyline too).

Really would like to get to the 1 or 2 seed and avoid having to play UCONN at their place. I think on paper our schedule is much more favorable then anyone else in conference who is competing for Conference Championship but the way we have played against the bottom half of the league concerns me. Still think us and SMU will get the 1 and 2 seeds with SMU winning the league with our loss to ECU costing us the Championship.

I think the league champ will have three losses.

I do too but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if smu wins out. Unfortunately we have to win out in conference but I don't think we will. I hate to say it but I think Tuesday is our most likely conference loss.

I also think uconn will win the tourney. I really don't want our first game to be vs. them. Also don't want to face a bottom feeder that will ding our rpi. I don't think both will happen unless we pick up some losses which would ding our rpi worse.

That's my fear...losing to a team in the lower tier of the league. I don't want to meet UCONN till the semis or finals but the fact is you're going to have to win 2 tough games to win the tournament.

Is everyone that afraid of UConn? I mean it wouldn't be ideal, but I say bring it on. I want to play them and SMU again. Those would be great NCAA prep games for us.

With the injury to Austin Nichols at Memphis, UConn is in position to move to the 5 spot, meaning at 2 or 3 we would avoid them until the finals.

Not afraid of them at all. It's just in essence a true home game for UCONN. Like I said, you're going to play 2 tough games regardless.

If they can win out, they deserve it - UConn twice, Temple, at Memphis, Tulsa

Updated to reflect tonight's games:
As I mentioned in the other thread, we are one month away from the conference tournament. This is what the current bracket would look like. I will add to this thread if anything should change.

(1) Tulsa 10-1

(3) Temple 9-3

(2) Southern Methodist 10-2
(7) Tulane 4-7 / (10) Houston 1-9

Tie-Breakers:
*Tulane holds the tie breaker with ECU due to head-to-head win

We can still finish tied with Tulsa and win the tiebreaker. I think we have an outside shot to get 2nd. It is disappointing that we're the only ones who can beat SMU.

Also keep in mind that after head-to-head, wins against teams higher than you in the standings is the next criteria. Sweeping SMU was big in that regard.

Here is a scenario:
-Tulsa loses to Cincinnati, SMU, Memphis and UConn finishes 13-5
-Temple loses to SMU and Tulsa finishes 13-5
-Cincinnati loses to someone not named Tulsa and finishes 13-5 (or Cincinnati wins out in conference)

Each team would be 2-1 against each other, so Cincinnati will finish in 2nd by virtue of sweeping SMU. Or get it outright if they win out.

You have Memphis ahead of UConn, but list their record as having more losses.

Regardless of which is correct today, Memphis is not finishing ahead of UConn.
