It is tomorrow in Philadelphia. Mick, Gary and Troy will be representing UC.

@American_MBB
The action starts early as the preseason poll and preseason awards will be announced at 7:30am ET #AmericanHoops

I'd expect Troy and Gary to be on the first team and Jacob Evans be on the second with a possibility of Washington

My predictions (essentially stone cold locks):

Standings-
1. UConn
2. Cincinnati
3. SMU
4. Houston
5. Memphis
6. Temple
7. Tulsa
8. UCF
9. ECU
10. USF
11. Tulane

POY: Dedrick Lawson (Memphis)
DPOY: Amida Brimah (UConn)
Newcomer: Aterique Gilbert (UConn)

1st team: Troy Caupain (UC), Gary Clark (UC), Daymean Dotson (UH), Rodney Purvis (UConn), Dedrick Lawson (Memphis)

2nd team: Rob Gray (Houston), Jacob Evans (UC), Shake Milton (SMU), Ben Moore (SMU), Amida Brimah (UConn)

Rookie Team: Jarron Cumberland (UC), Alterique Gilbert (UConn), Jawuan Durham (UConn), Harry Froling (SMU), Quinton Rose (Temple)

I think pat Birt should be in there somewhere probably between him Evans and Moore for the last spot on the second team.

Tulsa is suppose to be bad this year but he will have one of the highest ppg in the league

Troy Caupain named preseason Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-AAC
Gary Clark named First Team All-AAC
-Both are unanimous

Cincinnati picked to win he AAC.

Wow, Caupain getting some serious love. Great to see, hopefully he follows up on the attention.

Also, let's all hope UC does better than the last time they were picked to win the conference!

Great Troy is getting that kind of respect, but how does Evans get left off completely. Hopefully a huge motivator for that young man this year.

POY: Dedrick Lawson (Memphis) (Caupain was Co-POY)
DPOY: Amida Brimah (UConn) -- guess they don't do this award?

Overall I did quite well. UC and UConn were only separated by 1 vote. I am surprised Purvis didn't even make 2nd team but Jalen Adams did. The picks of the McMurry and Tyson were sympathy picks to bottom tier teams.

Mick can't help himself:

Neill Ostrout @NeillOstrout
Mick Cronin: "It takes some people two-and-a-half seconds to count to point-8."

This stuff annoys me to no end. #DumpMick

I wonder who else was voted preseason player of the year since caupain and Lawson both got 5 a piece shouldn't there be another player

Could have been Gary since he was the only other person to get unanimous 1st team and returning defensive player of the year

That's what I was thinking too, really glad for Gary getting his recognition through the conference and nationally, he is one of the best rebounders and shot blockers in the country
