Can we beat Drummond, Lamb and company?

I honestly think we can. I even will go as far as to say that we will win. I just think we are just now hitting our stride.

Drummond is good but he hasn't seen too many guys as big and strong as him and Yancy is certainly as big and strong as anyone in the country.

If we can cause the turnovers and find a way to rebound the ball we have a chance.

Now if we go ice cold from deep we have no shot but I think we have 4 really capable shooters and I dont anticipate too many more of those games this year.

What do you guys think?

I agree. If we don't stand around the perimeter and dribble the shot clock down, and make more of an effort on the front line to crash the boards, I say we win. Without SK, it's going to be close. Any word on his condition?

Haven't seen UConn but I'd assume if we can beat Georgetown in their place when they shoot 60% from the field then we are capable of beating anyone. Our D is tough, turnovers are a huge factor too, but in my mind it all comes down to shooting. When we lay eggs on offense like we did against St. John's we aren't going to win too many big games unless we are really imposing our will on the defensive side of the ball.

If we can score the way we have been lately we are going to be very tough to beat. You want to beat UConn, Cuse, GTown and the other big dogs then you have to score.

UC 74
UConn 69

UConn is a matchup nightmare for Cincinnati, while they have great size you'd think to combat that with good guards. Unfortunately for the Bearcats UConn has the best back court in the league so it doesn't look good for the Cats. I think the Huskies will dominate the glass and get the better of the back court match up.

Connecticut 77
Cincinnati 61

Going to be a tough game. Have to take care of the ball. Rebounding scares me. I think they win this one in a tough close game 67-63 if they stay close on the boards. If they lose big (8-10) on the boards UConn 73-61. That's what the game will come down to imo.

Cincinnati at Connecticut

With a 20-0 record and a No. 1 national ranking, the Syracuse Orange have established themselves as the class of the Big East.

But which team is the second best?

Georgetown, which won 11 straight games earlier this season, is certainly in the mix. So are Marquette and surging West Virginia. More and more these days, however, Connecticut appears to be the squad best equipped to challenge Syracuse for the league title before embarking on a significant run in the NCAA tournament.

Not that we should be surprised.

The Huskies, who return every key piece of last season’s NCAA championship team other than Kemba Walker, entered the season ranked No. 4 before a shocking Nov. 25 loss to Central Florida took them out of the spotlight. Rutgers and Seton Hall have upset Connecticut, too. But that hasn’t squelched Jim Calhoun’s enthusiasm about the potential of this team.

Jeremy Lamb is a Wooden Award candidate and point guard Shabazz Napier averages 6.3 assists per game. The reason the Huskies’ ceiling is so high, however, is freshman Andre Drummond, a forward who is projected as a top-five pick in this summer’s NBA draft.

After a somewhat slow start, Drummond has been dominant at times in recent weeks. He’s posted a double-double in four of his past five games and will be a huge factor tonight when the Huskies host Cincinnati. At 4-1, the Bearcats are a half-game ahead of the 4-2 Huskies in the Big East standings.

Cincinnati, which is 14-4 overall, has done a nice job of holding itself together following the ugly aftermath of its Dec. 10 brawl with Xavier. But Mick Cronin’s team -- along with every other school in the Big East -- will have a tough time beating a Connecticut team with limitless potential, especially in Stoors.

Prediction: Connecticut 75, Cincinnati 60

I remember just how bad Rutgers' backcourt made them look and I even remember how USF exploited their poor defense (even though they lost in the end), although they have talent, their execution isn't that great.
Can we win? Yeah, will we? I don't know.

Does ESPN really watch these games?
No, they are not. They turn the ball over 15+ times a game lately, even though they out-rebounded Depaul by like 20, they still barely squeaked by them. They had to pull a miracle to beat Marquette, Georgetown is a good team, not a great team. They certainly will not finish in second. They don't have the athleticism, they make stupid passes left and right and for what ever reason, JT III, sucks at in game adjustments.
He's stubborn as a mule.

UConn could be second, though I think West Virginia got jipped against them.

Cash has to score tonight for UC.

Agree. He doesn't have to score a lot per se, but he definitely has to be efficient. He can't go 2 for 10 from the field. I feel like he needs to score at least 1 point per shot tonight. Anything more is a bonus and anything less is trouble.

His problems shooting are all mental, no confidence at all.
It happens, hopefully this is the game he snaps out of it.
He can score and score well when he's on. In fact, when he's feeling it, I think we're a very hard team for anyone to beat.
