to discuss possibly breaking away on their own. Don't like this one bit. The BE is way too unstable for us

I dont blame them, personally I am one who believes that college basketball is one of the few sports that is better than the professional version. College basketball is better to watch than the NBA, as for football YOu can't move me off of my couch on a sunday while im watching NFL REDZONE.

Reading the article on ESPN it said non football members were really displeased with UC and UCONN with how they voiced their want to leave the BE and join the Acc. Lmao. Oh we are so sorry that the conference leaders and a effing joke and everyone can leave but if UC voices their feelings we get in trouble lol. I can only hope and pray we leave this BS league its turned into and walk away with our pants down. So the league officials can kiss our as$!

This is all a bit premature. According to sources late yesterday, this was a scheduled meeting with the commissioner to ask questions. Essentially, it was a Q&A. I am sure the talk of dissolution came up but, as Mike DeCourcy said, "Still maintain people using the "split" and "break" verbiage re: Big East hoop schools are miscasting this. That action costs way too much." Dissolution is the only option for them if they want to "break" or "split" but that won't happen until they know what kind of money they are getting from new TV deal. Frankly, I believe all of this won't matter because UC will be in the ACC or Big 12 by then. Just my opinion.

Jason you are right. Once the big12, b1g and sec start poaching teams from the acc, uc will be in the acc. Uc is in a great position

And It looks like Ralph will be dead wrong once again for the 1,274,183,274,184,844,294,492th time in realignment predictions

This IS going to happen, it's inevitable. Eventually (hopefully?!?!?!) UC is going to get out of the Big East and probably UConn as well. At that point I doubt that the catholic bball schools will have any desire to remain in a conference with the likes of Houston, SMU, Tulane and South Florida. While it may be all about money in football realignment it's certainly not all about money with these bball schools. If they feel that they aren't getting the opportunity to play marquee opponents and it becomes that much harder for them to make the NCAA's they aren't going to hang around the Big East. I believe for a lot of these schools it's about pride, plus at a certain point playing in a watered down conference will hurt their attendance and the revenue their programs make. For these schools (like Xavier) it is all about basketball. I'm not saying it will happen before July but at some point in the next 3 to 5 years this is going to happen. These schools will break off and create their own league and you'll most likely see XU, Dayton, VCU, Butler and a couple others joining them. I think these schools would be willing to have their TV money drop from 1.25 mil to 750k if it means that they can protect the integrity of their conference and maintain a high level of competition.

You make some points but where you are wrong is that this IS all about money. Look, these schools can say it isn't about money but the fact is that they are in the Big East is because they could make more money by being with football schools than in a league like the A-10. When UC and UCONN leave (and they will), that money may not be what it was and at that time, you could see them "break" away.

You have to realize that this is all posturing too. Right now, the football schools still have the power because they are generating the TV revenue. The basketball schools can affect that to a degree by threatening to leave and maybe they get a better share of the pot as a result. Whomever blinks first will lose. I don't expect UC to blink because they realize their future is not in the Big East anyway. The new football schools may not be so willing to stay firm on this though.

Of course they are concerned but there is not much the basketball schools can really do. Obviously, it all depends on the value of the TV contract. Basketball schools need the football schools a lot more than the football schools need the basketball schools, it is football that brings in the TV dollars, not basketball.

It is Bearcat Mick that is always wrong. You stated over and over Louisville was going to join the Big 12, WRONG. You stated over and over the Big 12 was expanding past 10 members, WRONG they are not. You stated over and over the Big 12 must have a CCG for the Champions Bowl, WRONG they do not.

It is up to the SEC and Big 10 as to whether any more ACC schools will be poached, if no more ACC schools are poached UC will remain a member of the Big East.

Lol. The big12 expansion committee just met. What do you think they met for? Cookies? . Big12, sec and b1g are expanding and uc is going to the acc like babcock promised tuberville when he interviewed him. You are in some serious denial

Will the two of you just shut up already? If you both speculate as to every possible scenario then eventually one of you is going to be right about something. NOBODY CARES!!! How do you know the Big12 committee just met? How do you know what Whit promised Tubby? You don't know anything and neither does Ralph. You can speculate and offer opinions all you want, that's what message boards are for, but you both need to quit stating your opinions as facts. No one give a sh*t what either of you have to say, you're not insiders and frankly I'm not sure either of you is mentally stable enough to be allowed to have an internet connection. The fact that Ralph is Bearcat Mick makes this whole thing that much more frustrating. Can someone please ban "these two" clowns?!?! C'Mon Bearcat Jeff or Jason S or whoever moderates this board, step up, enough is enough.

On what grounds do you want him banned? Look, BearcatMick and I have had our issues and disagreements but I am not going to suspend someone because I don't agree with something they post. Is it annoying that Ralph and BearcatMick always argue the same thing over and over? Yes. Is it hurting anyone? I don't think so. Feel free to ignore them. If you have another issue that I have somehow missed, please feel free to message me.

For the record, last i checked, BearcatMick and Ralph have different IP addresses so I do not believe they are the same person.

If you don't want to see their "conversations" anymore just go into settings and set them up under your ignore list. I have quite a few under there for me. They have the right to post what they want but you have the ability to not read any of it.

Here's the thing. They gotta stop the posts that just say..

"You are incorrect". Nothing else. It's nonsense. Everyone knows it, they know it.

They just keep going back and forth. I ignore it mostly, but it certainly ruins threads. I would suggest nipping that in the bud, because, right now, it happens in every thread they are in. But it's your board boss.

They met and decided no further expansion. They are happy as a clam at high tide with 10 members and the round robin schedule.

A 21 team basketball league? Sounds turrible. Not to mention there would be total domination by the current BE teams it would be the biggest watered down shit to watch. I would be embarrassed to play in the A10 and can't picture schools such as G'town and Nova etc playing with those scrubs. I guess it will happen eventually but a 21 team league is dumb. They might as well cut it in half and kick the more turrible schools out and keep the top 10, then it would be decent competition.

You might want to research that. Every credible analyst disagrees with you wholeheartedly.

The big 12 has the smallest footprint in terms of population in the big 4 conferences. They are not going to sit by and watch the big10 and sec expand their markets leaving them scraps. They will not allow themselves to fall further behind. On top of that the champions bowl requires a ccg for the b12. The sec was Adamant about that during negotiations.
