Belk Bowl is Official

Any runners out there doing the Belk 5k with me? People that went last year, thoughts on Friday and Saturday night? Any advice on the fanfest before the game?
 
Whit says UC is on exactly the same pace as last year in terms of ticket sales (15,000). North Carolina announced today that they have sold 8,000.
 
I haven't been that embarrassed since the Sugar Bowl. I had sorority girls behind me who couldn't spell football talking about how pathetic our team was. I'm still not positive our team knew there was a game tonight. The only group that played alright was the defensive line. I wish the seniors wouldn't have gone out like that.

We lost by 22 points and honestly that was lucky. It could have easily been 40+ because we were absolutely dominated after they scored their first touchdown. It doesn't get much worse than getting blown out by an average ACC team. On to 2014...

This season has been a buzz kill and it is definitely because of Tuberville. I haven't been impressed one bit this season. Lost the last chance a good bowl game, lost the last game at old Nippert, lost to a 4 win Illinois team after a blow out in game 1. Every chance to build some sort of momentum for the program was squandered. Good thing I am a UC basketball fan first and foremost.
 
Awful performance today. I am glad I was with friends and could watch at the game instead of sitting at home or worse 500 miles from home suffering through it with no distractions. And I'm glad the game followed a nice win by the basketball team to not ruin my day. Ultimately it was a meaningless game. On to next year, we have plenty of work to do.
 
That football was embarrassing. I was wondering what they did for an entire month. Ultimately I didn't even care because I was too geeked about our basketball team winning. :)

9-4 is fine. With a first year coach, you can't bash him too much. I was cursing at Tubs yesterday through my T.V. in the heat of the moment, but you have to give him more than a year before you pass judgement. 9-4 isn't ideal, but it was much better than the 4-8 Butch Jones first year. I think Tubs will bring us consistency, and while I don't know that he can bring us back to the heights of the Brian Kelly era, he certainly can be a solid coach for us. Much of yesterday's bad performance was due to missing two pillars on the o-line, as Brendon was running for his life all day. The defense was unacceptable, I thought we had a great defense. We were rusty just like we were last year against Duke, but we didn't wake up in time to come back in this game.
 
Tommy Tuberville is the second coach in UC history to have 8 or more wins in his first season. He is in good company, as Brian Kelly is the only other coach to do so.

Good for him. Maybe Mick can schedule him to play some of our patsies so his record will look even better.

Minter, Murphy, and Lyle Jones all win 9 games with this schedule. That is how pathetic it was. At least UC will play two good OOC games next year, too bad they will likely lose them both.
