Bengals take TE Gresham w/ the first pick. Solid, and I like it.

I like the pick. There are plenty of good WRs that will be available in round 2. Dez Bryant is a bit of a character risk (not that that has stopped the Bengals before) and TE is not deep this year. Pick up Gilyard in round and all is good!
They need a deep threat. Golden or Gilyard would be fine by me.

I put it this way. If Gilyard was not a bearcat and the bengals drafted him, I would be upset.
Facts. Most people on this site wont see it tho. Gilyard was an above average college talent who is to small and not fast enough to play in the NFL. Great Kick return guy, not a NFL type WR.
I dont see Gilyard as being a deep threat in the NFL. He is only 6' and ran a 4.6/4.5. He did well for UC, but its not that easy in the NFL. These DB's will be the same height if not taller and will run faster than the Big East competition.
If we needed a deep threat why not take DEZ BRYANT. Gilyard is what we already have in crosby, caldwell, jerome.
And here is why i disagree with taking Gresham. Especially after two knee injuries....

I think Marvin can find this man a spot! Voted SI.com Tight End of the decade.
Too bad we couldnt get the guy from GA Tech!!!
