I hope UC is offered and accepts--they have to! I also wonder if UC will be able to compete week in and week out. Football schedule would look something like this:
* Austin Peay
* Michigan
* Miami, Oh
* Marshall
* WVU
* Houston
* Iowa State
* Oklahoma
* Kansas
* UCONN
* Kansas State
* Okla State
I love the look at that schedule. We would adapt and be able to compete weekly. Once we get the invite and accept, first thing first, dump TT and get a real passionate head coach that will excel our program.
So as I've said...seems they will only expand by 2 not 4 like Jason and the rest of you have said.
Source: BYU Big 12’s No. 1 overall. Oklahoma wants Cincy. Texas of course wants Houston. Don’t be surprised if compromise is Cincy & Houston

We will see. Still think it is 4. Texas is not going to compromise and Houston can't get to 8 votes as one of two members.
I agree with this. Houston brings nothing to the table for all the schools and conference, except for Texas. I think they end up going to 4 teams. 2 for 2017 and 2 for 2018.
I wouldn't be surprised at anything right now. 12 is the number the consultants gave as best chance to get to CFP with playoff, better than 14.
The "smaller" schools don't want another Texas school. There isn't a clear cut 14th school to go along with BYU, UC, and UH. Only expanding by 2 is advantageous in future dealings with ESPN/Fox.
Personally, I can see why Texas is being stubborn here. They gave their word to the governor and Houston to do their best and that wasn't just lip service. We all know the Houston branch of UTexas will go ahead either way. Plus, adding UH gives Texas another voting partner.
I hope the resolution includes UC and BYU in either a two team or four team addition. If they have to go to four, who is the fourth team? You can't argue that Houston is a travel partner for either UC of BYU and in fact causes travel issues with Kansas and ISU. I can see where they say UC is the travel partner for WVU. My top three for the fourth spat are in order of what I think the Big 12 presidents are thinking:
- UConn - they bring the most to tv footprint, have good academics, and that whole basketball piece
- Tulane - great desitnation! Gives fans a place to party and opens up the Sugar Bowl as conference championship host, plus their academics are the best.
- Colorado State - travel partner for BYU and good enough in all other categories
Houston doesn't seem to be having much of a problem recruiting their own area. Hell, they landed the #6 recruit in the nation last year. What's Tubs excuse?
Not as good of a recruiter??
Boise State, New Mexico, Colorado State, and Tulane.
You heard it here first!
Seriously though, I'd be very surprised if UC or Houston got left out at this point.

Here are my expert, fail proof, genius level, odds:
BYU/Houston: 85%
The Field: 15%
