Big 12

Uconn won that title with players they recruited while in the Big East. Same with Louisville. It hasn't been long enough to know how this league will affect teams long term.

Did you not watch Houston beat the snot out of FSU in the Peach Bowl last year??

Where is Houston now? They gonna make the playoffs? Even if they won every game they would have needed help to make it.

Houston is in great shape to make another big time bowl game. And still has a chance to make the playoffs if somethings goes their way.

And no, if UH was unbeaten they would make the playoffs.

I doubt they would. Even a one loss big 10 pac 12 sec or acc would have a better resume.

They have no shot at the playoff and currently will not even qualify for any New Years Bowl. As long as Navy maintains, Houston will not even make the conference title game.

ESPN is currently paying Cincinnati $2 million dollars. UC is not worth $25 million and neither is any other AAC school. The only school that is even close to that number is BYU. That was something simple that no UC fan understood. I was saying this for YEARS. I once said I'd leave this board if UC ever got into the Big 12.....and I ain't going no where.

It's not about being worth the money, it's about being already under contract for less. Been following this board for a long time, and some people frustrate me with their negativity. But you are just ridiculous, not only do you root for your school not to make the conference; root for them to lose games, you also just talk trash in general about the entire university. I don't care what your association is, you've been going to games for 20 years or you're an alum or whatever, you're a terrible fan and fans like you are to blame more than anything. Like previously stated we don't have the fan support or viewership we need and that's because of fairweather fans like you. You're garbage and you're an embarrassment to the university as a fan and really the entire city of Cincinnati. I'd much rather have you just gone.

I know we all want TT out of here, but at this time lets try and back our university as much as we can. It's often UC against the world, so lets not turn on our own school with negativity of bashing both coaches all the time. They will move forward without TT after this year I'm sure of that.

Big 10 should have added UC Pitt UofL and WVU a long time ago, but you can think OSU for the fact they went forward with Maryland and Rutgers? Anyways, screw the state of Texas and pretty much every other school too. We need to have a good year in basketball that's all I can say.

Was talking about this last night. Think of all the P5 conferences with teams in the same state. Texas has what 4, North Carolina has 3 in the acc, mich and mich state, fla at and Miami, auburn and Alabama. Ohio state has ****** us forever; we should be a big 10 school. And being in the 5th best state for recruits is it really that hard to give up. Another reason I hate OSU

Okay, this is flat out wrong. NTS really hasn't been wrong about anything he's said about TT or the Big 12. I think we all are different types of fans but NTS definitely is no fair weather fan. In all honesty, when he posts analytically and posts meaningful statistics, I think he's one of the best posters on the board.

Where he's wrong is in putting UC in an isolation chamber to determine their "worth" as an athletic institution on the open market. Is Iowa State worth $25 million using that criteria? Kansas State? Northwestern? Rutgers? Anyone outside an elite handful of schools?

Based on the memberships of the respective Big 5 conferences, there is very little doubt that Cincinnati belongs in that group. By any measurable criteria.

Texas 5- TU, TTEC , TAM,TCU AND BAYLOR AND NC HAS 4- NC, NC ST, DUKE AND WF. So hate OSU even more !

Right lol. But it really is crazy to me. I understand they want the recruits, but there's no reason we couldn't coexist in a big conference.

Cincinnati's situation is different from those "weaker" P5 schools you've mentioned because they are already under contract. The Big 10 decided that adding Rutgers was worthwhile because it allowed them to get into the Northeast and place the B1G Network on local cable packages. Is Kansas State or Iowa State "worth" $25 million on the open market? Not sure, but posing that question is irrelevant.

The Big 12 has (or maybe had) a pro-rata clause in their contract that stated if they added additional members, they would get a proportional bump in money (valued between 20-25 million). So, now it is a relevant question to pose from the perspective of the TV partners, is the addition of Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, UCF, USF, etc worth the money they'll have to spend. They CLEARLY did not think so because they threatened lawsuits against the Big 12 if they added such a school.

The only way any of the aforementioned schools would be worth the additional revenue is if, like the B1G adding Rutgers, there was a conference network that they could get revenue from by having it available on cable packages in Ohio. Once the Big 12 realized they were too late to get a conference network, the idea of expansion with AAC schools no longer made financial sense.

Correct. I have been dead on in both regards.

Right, I've been just as damaging to Cincinnati's athletic programs as an AD that hired a coach without even conducting an interview or looking at other candidates.

Are you joking? Undefeated Houston beating Louisville and Oklahoma would have been an obvious pick for the playoffs.

You're crazy. Maybe if every power five school had two losses. I mean look what happens to Baylor and TCU the year before last and they are in a p5. I'd go on record saying a non p5 team will never make the four team playoff.

If Urban Meyer wanted to come to UC as our football coach, I suppose you would make him interview with another 8 people or so. You wouldn't just hire him?

This argument goes: Urban Meyer = TT

This is a bad argument.

No he's not crazy. UH would make the playoff's if that happen... A undefeated AAC season with those two OOC wins would def be top 4 maybe even third in the top 4.

So you believe ann undefeted houston would have made the playoffs over an undefeted big 10, sec, acc, and pac 12 team?

Delusional
