It was ugly. No way to spin it. The only silver lining was the 2 teams on their way out taking bad losses. That doesn't help this year either though.

Good point. Syracuse has been nothing really since Donovan McNabb and Pitt has constantly underachieved...Good riddance

Regarding future members, Not thrilled with Memphis or Houston football at the moment. Hopefully their recruiting picks up. Those are just horrible horrible losses. I understand their market value to the league but they offer nothing with football at the moment

SMU and Navy I can understand getting blown out. They were overmatched.

Boise and SDSU played pretty well just came up a little short. They'll be fine

UCF looks to be a strong addition with a program on the rise(after this postseason ban)

It is a conference that is about to get each all sports member about $15 million a year for TV rights. That my son, is no joke.

It is a conference that will send its champion for the next 2 seasons to a BCS Bowl game for a $20 million check, this season most probably the Sugar Bowl. $20 million my son, is no joke.

The be is easily the 5th best conference in America

We are better than the ACC!
At least, we were last year.
As far as being a joke goes, it's only a joke if you're contrasting it with the top 2-3 teams in the league. I'm more concerned about this team, than I am with the state of the conference, TBH.
Football has had to pull for the school, since basketball fell off. Cronin has picked up the pieces pretty well. I'm waiting to see if he can continue the success.
I think that despite losing Wolfe and Hughes to the Broncos and Browns.
The D-line will have enough to hold solid. The one thing that made last year special, was in spite of the poor DB's, we had a good front on defense. Statistically, the 5th best run defense in the NCAA.
I know we're thin as far as LB's are concerned, but if Coombs(former DB coach) was the problem with the backfield, he's gone. If the backfield is even average, we may be the lone team in the Big East with a defense.
