Mike Brey Rumors Swirling
April 26, 2010

Rumors have been flying around South Bend today as word around campus is that Mike Brey is on the verge of being forced to resign as Notre Dame's head basketball coach, the reason being Brey breaking the university's code of conduct.

"The rumor is that he was sleeping with a local TV reporter. She was supposedly dating Chris Zorich and got into a drunken fight with him out in South Bend and got arrested, and was fired from her job. Now it is strongly rumored that Brey had something going on with her."

Not too much to talk about, and this is somewhat interesting.

Best part of article: "Does this mean Mike Brey is Tiger Woods?" For the record, what man doesn't want to be Tiger Woods? (save for the whole infidelity thing....) Last time I heard, Tiger seemed to live it up for a few years.....

Thanx for putting up the OT for off topic, but I never liked it, as the title generally speaks for itself.

I heard the rumor three days ago, but withheld it until confirmation came. Wonder if we'll see any defections from the hoops team.

He is history, IMO. The priests at ND aren't going to like the whole adultery side of things.

3 2010 commits who would likely be released from their LOI in my opinion, but none of them had Cincinnati interest early on. Of course this could change with our defections.

This rumor has been around for awhile and has finally started to spread. When I originally heard it two weeks ago his resignation was supposed to come in day or two from then. Two weeks have passed and nothing has happened, yet. I really don't know what to believe.

If this is true, and if people are released from their LOI's, they like will not be able to go to another Big East school, since the school can place limitations on where they can and cannot go

They can, but that would be extremely lame of them to do that, especially in this kind of situation. I would lose a lot of respect for ND if they did that. Having said that, I'm still pretty confident he won't be let go.
