Notre Dame to Big 12?

Any year that ND goes 12-0 they will be one of the 4 chosen ones. Eternal E is very correct, ND has no motivation to join a conference. NBC will take care of them as far as TV money is concerned.
Maybe but it's not a slam dunk they get in over a 1 loss sec team due to SOS factoring in So heavily

Ee, you are wrong. Nd would get their own tv network in big 12

There was an article on ESPN that discussed this yesterday. A scary thought for UC was that there was a strong chance a 12-0 UC would have been passed up for Alabama, TX, TCU and Florida. Remember, the Frogs were ranked higher than UC in all the human polls and Florida, the 12-1 defending National Champ, would have gotten the same benefit of the doubt that Alabama did last season.

You're probably right and if that's the case, I would consider the 4 team playoff system a failure. Part of the benefit to me would be to finally give Boise State, TCU and the occasional UC a chance when they run the table. I hope I have to worry about this soon though.

I wish there were just 4 big conferences and they absorbed the Big East and ACC, took the big bowl games, then turned around and told the NCAA, the mid majors and independents to go screw.
Sadly, my utopian dream won't be coming to fruition.

That would indeed be great...but if it happened and the Big East wasn't fully absorbed and UC was not one of the 64...disaster.

It's not as strong as a big 12 or sec schedule

Navy, Stanford, air force, Pitt, usf, purdue, wake forest, bc are horrible most years

Michigan State, Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, and Miami (FL) are all marquee games. Stanford has been good recently (don't care about 10 or 15 years ago).

You are over stating nds relevance. This is not the 80s anymore.. But if nd goes undefeated and it's a choice between them or a 1 loss bama team like last year, bama will go in due to SOS

Yeah, you are way off on this one. Never would happen, not a single chance in one million or more.

Absolutely not

Bama last year played more ranked teams and a much better SOS. The new playoff format overwhelmingly counts SOS into the equation. Nd would have to play and beat at least 5 ranked teams in their undefeated season. Bama last years SOS was absurd in sec
