Butch (not) Gone To CU

It's hard to see Jones as a serious candidate for either Tenn or Wisconsin. It seems like a lot of people would have to say no before they get to him. I think both fan bases expect a big name or a homegrown guy. He won't satisfy either.

I cannot confirm that the following is true but, according to some reporters in Colorado, the deal between Butch and Colorado was agreed to but then Tennessee called and that was the reason he did not take the job. My guess is that he is delaying commenting specifically on UC because they are still working out the terms with UT. My best guess: look for Butch to be the next coach at Tennessee. Hope I'm wrong.

Lol this is ridiculous. I see the UT job a career killer. If that is true I hope Butch realizes he was at best sloppy seconds to a rival school head coach in Strong. If he goes there Jones will be fired in 3 years or less.

A cut out from an article about Strong and UL staying together. All I can say is, it must be nice. http://espn.go.com/blog/bigeast/post/_/id/40301/strong-goes-against-grain-with-move-to-stay

"Charlie Strong spoke passionately, emotionally, beautifully, honestly and confidently Thursday morning, a man so determined to be a real leader he made a choice just about every leader in college football would not have made.

He stayed.

For loyalty.

For the love of his players.

For the love of his community.

For the love of his family. "

He stayed because it was Tennessee or Auburn. He would have been gone if it was Florida, Bama, or LSU. Point is, he is doing what Butch should be doing. Stay put and see what offers there are next year.

ESPN rumors (take it for what it's worth) is noting that Bo Pellini, current Nebraska coach and former LSU defensive coordinator, has interest in the Vols. I think they are wanting someone with SEC roots and maybe see Jones as the back-up plan if that doesn't work out.

If true, we could be waiting for a while.

I hate to say it and I know how irrational it sounds but at this point F*&K Butch Jones!!! He clearly doesn't want to be here unless he has to be here and even if he comes back he's going to pretty much be a lame duck head coach. I know it would never happen and Butch certainly doesn't deserve it but a small part of me would love to see UC stand up for itself here and go hire a new head coach. Have a presser tomorrow to announce the firing of Butch and the hiring of a new coach and then Butch winds up not getting the UT job and is without a job next season. It would be a nice little piece of karma for all these coaches who hold their schools hostage every bowl season.

You are 100% right, it is irrational. You sound like Butch is your boyfriend and he keeps eyeing other girls.

Sometimes you gotta vent, this whole thing is getting very irritating. On a side note, UT fans and all over twitter saying they don't want Butch Jones.

Is it just me when I say, I just can't picture Jones at a big time program and having success. I also think he doesn't have that strong of a resume to impress a big time program.
With that being said I don't understand at this point why Jones doesn't stay at UC and actually be the man who builds something. Money should not be a factor by now because at this point UC is willing to pay him substantially more and is more than a sufficient amount. I wish Butch would see things like Strong does because butch could build a program here if he wants. But news flash, it takes some time and just like everyone else in this world, they work hard for what they get. IMO Butch hasn't proved shit yet and being a big time coach doesn't happen in 3 years.

The Ralph News Network tweeted Butch would not be CU's new head coach, yesterday.

Will the Ralph News Network be involved in the new BE TV deal? At the rate it has been going, you could probably offer 100$ per year and get the BE TV deal.
