Cashmere Wright knee

If there is no damage to the knee which is apparently what the MRI confirmed, I'm not sure why there would be risk of injuring it worse.

As Mick said on his radio show last night he is not going to risk playing Cash in the regular season until he is 100%.

This is so stupid. If Cash is ready to go, he'll play. If not, he won't. It's really very simple.

My guess is he plays around 18-20 minutes.

If there is any chance of more damage to the knee this weekend, they have to sit him these next two games. Take our chances with Marquette and take the loss at Syracuse. Then we don't have another game until the 30th. It's not worth him rushing back and jeopardizing the rest of our season. I trust them to do the right thing.

I agree with this completely. These games don't matter in the long run. Having a healthy Cash is more important than possibly losing these two games.

Structural damage and a possibly weakened knee are two completely different things. Just because he didn't structurally damage the knee doesn't mean that he isn't at more risk to injure it further. The doctors will obviously make the call and Mick will error on the side of caution this weekend.

I did. Obviously everyone knows the doctors will make the call and Mick will error on the side of caution. As far as a "weakened knee", what exactly is that? A medical term? I'd be curious to find out what specifically happened....If his knee is structurally in tack than there really isn't going to be much, if any, risk of injuring it further. Maybe my prior doctors sucked but when I sprained my knee they told me it wasn't at much risk to worsen. Of course he doesn't have a sprained knee though..We'll see what they decide tomorrow.

I agree that if it there is no structural damage to the knee then he needs to play. If the knee has some sort of fatigue or weakness then maybe limit his minutes as much as possible. Obviously if the game is one-sided he doesn't need to be playing. Sub him out before a media timeout to maximize his time off the knee. There is such thing as sitting too long and your body getting out of its routine. Then when he does come back he's tired or his knees can't handle the large amount of running it's no longer used to. There are so many possibilities to what might or could happen but reality is you don't know until it happens. If his knee is on the verge of giving out then there would be something revealed in the MRI I would imagine, there would be stress showing or wear or whatever doctors see on those X-rays. Plus it is important to remember this is not the same knee that he has had all his surgeries on. I trust in Mick, if there is something that would jeapordize his season long term, then I trust his opinion to sit him.

Cash told Fox19 that his knee still does not feel completely normal, but good enough to play. I guess the week off wasn't enough.
