I'm going to make my prediction. Russ Smith has shot nearly 60% from the three in the last 4 games and offensively Louisville has clicked on all cylinders. Law of averages tell me Smith isn't going to continue to shoot the ball at that pace. Whoever GG and SK guard both will be key match ups. They will need to stop penetration and make UL shoot jump shots and force Harrell to score off the block instead of dunks.
I see UC playing at a deliberate pace. The Bearcats will need to get off to a decent start and not turn the ball over early. My hope is they attack Harrell inside and make him play defense. Titus Rubles will be huge in this game because Luke Hancock cannot guard him down low. As a matter of fact I think Thomas and Rubles are the key to winning this game offensively. Along with how well GG and TC handle the ball.
Cincinnati will need the bench to give them production. I don't care if it comes from Sanders and Johnson or Caupain and Nyarsuk. We have to have bench scoring. Pitino will try to take the ball out of SK's hands.
If Jackson plays he has to be active offensively. Get Harrell in foul trouble and I love our chances. Defensively he has to play position and be smart. UC has to rebound especially defensively. As I stated earlier, well over half of Harrell's rebounds are offensive.
I am going to make my prediction under the premise Jackson will play. I like how Cincinnati matches up with Louisville. If UC limits turnovers and limits offensive rebounds I think they will win. Even if JJack don't play I think they will account well of themselves because Harrell doesn't have the kind of size Titus can't guard but I think UC will fall just short w/o JJ.
I'm predicting a UC victory in the range of 68-64 to 72-68. Believe it will be a war with neither team giving an inch and UC seeking respect. I'm not predicting this with my heart. I like the match ups. My only fear is turnovers. There you have it. (w/o JJ I'm going to say UL wins 70-62)
