We can't afford to keep Tuberville around next year. As Jason said, they could fire him tonight and I don't think anyone would care. But no matter what happens the rest of this year, I just don't see how we can bring this guy back. The program can't afford to have these kind of losses (especially at home) be so routine. We've lost by at least 2 TDs in 5 of the last 13 games. And all of those losses have come against non-P5 programs. Inexcusable.

You gotta take Less Miles, or BJ or BJ or JTresell. As long as they are ethical. We need wins

Tuberville needs to go. Bohn needs to do his job here or he should go too. Fans, players, and the university deserve better.

Yup. It has to end. I'd pull the trigger now....but at the very least the day the season ends

I agree. I think the end of the year might be best. I think Bohn needs to lay it out for Tubs and establish the fact he is not working out and bow out peacefully at the years end. Time to starting searching and PJ should be contacted.

I know it's a long shot, but if Texas does go through with firing Charlie Strong following the season, would he be a realistic option?

Hated playing against his teams but the man can recruit and won a lot in the AAC.

Tuberville = Cronin / Cronin = Tuberville

I have a tendency to be more patient with our football program since historically they are't near the caliber of the basketball program but I agree that Tommy T needs to go. I'll never understand why the administration at UC feels so comfortable with sitting back and allowing these coaches to lower the bar on our programs.

All the momentum we gained under Dantonio, Kelly and Jones is now gone. We've sat back and watched as the needle stopped rising and now we're watching it fall. Unless we want to end up complacent and stuck in eternal mediocrity like our hoops program we need to act quickly. Time to move on from Tommy T at the end of the season and bring in someone who will start moving the needle forward again. Simply making bowl games is not good enough, this team needs to be competing for championships, especially since we're in the AAC. If we do not get into the Big 12 with expansion God help this athletic program with these two coaches at the helm sailing a sinking ship right to the bottom of the non power 5 ocean.

An enthusiastic yes from me.

I have no idea how realistic this scenario would be.

I'm not a big fan of hiring coaches who have just been fired somewhere else. Charlie Strong might be an exception. He wouldn't be my top choice at all, but I wouldn't be upset either.

You think Tuberville and Cronin are the same? Wow. I don't even know where to start with that comment.

I'm in the same boat. Not sure Charlie Strong has the same pull with recruits as he did when he was leaving Louisville. I'd rather bring Brian Kelly back if Notre Dame gets rid of him before bringing Charlie Strong in. I wouldn't hate it but he wouldn't be on the top of my list. I'd rather bring Kerry Coombs in or the coach from Western Michigan even knowing he might leave in 3 or 4 years. That would mean our program would be top 25 again if that happened. I'd be ok with that. I'd be ok hiring a top young assistant from a top program like what Houston did with Tom Herman.

Not winning the conference, not winning in the postseason (just getting there is seen as enough), not bringing in highly rated recruits, rarely seen in the Top 25...more similarities than you'd think at first glance.

Major difference though is that the basketball team doesn't get blown out in 25% of their games. That is enough (right or wrong) to keep the fanbase hopeful year after year, even if the season usually ends in disappointment.

Tuberville doesn't have the loyal following that Cronin does, and at this point he never will (I think that has to do with what they each inherited). Cronin is better for UC than Tuberville, but not by a ton imo.

The main difference I think, is that there isn't serious questioning of whether Cronin cares or not. TT does not care about his team and is very lackadaisical. Cronin, albeit being underwhelming at times, cares a lot about that University and his team. I think that's clear.

Cronin has said that he doesn't coach for wins and losses and he doesn't care where we are in the conference standings. I don't question that he cares about his team, or the university. But I do feel like he is less competitive than when he was younger.

People are getting delirious on here. TT doesn't care, he wants to lose, all he wants is his money, hire Brian Kelly back, let's get Charlie Strong--crazy. None of that stuff is true or will happen. You can't win consistently with 3 star recruits against 4 & 5 star players, and UC will be getting 3 star recruits because they are not in a Power5 Conference. I think UC should hire Urban Meyer from Ohio State, pay him $10 million a year; he probably wants to return to his alma mater---that's how crazy some of you are.

It's kinda amazing one wants a FB coach fired for this, but the BB coach walks on water.

This.

Sad thing is even if you do want the coach gone it's not gonna happen. NO way will UC cough up that amount of money to buyout Tubbs.

Actually, look at the buy out. If they fire him at the end of this season, they owe him $1,000,000. That's not a lot of money in today's college football.

Talk about taking something out of context. I'm not saying Charlie Strong would come here (or that Brian Kelly would come back). I'm saying, even if he would, or if it was a possibility, I don't know that I would want him (or BK). I would prefer an up and coming assistant or a HC from a lesser conference before grabbing a coach that was just fired. I would even be OK with Kerry Coombs coming back to Cincinnati to be a HC. What is delusional about that?
