Cant get any worse..

I think it will. This team is lost and next year we will be very young and inexperienced. Then the next year Brannen will be on the hot seat and in a brutally difficult recruiting situation.

From now on all I care about is development and recruiting.

I'm expecting dumpster fire. I'd be surprised if we win more than one of the next three (and 0-3 wouldn't surprise me). Without Jarron and Scott fitting in the system, we just don't have the ability to be a good team. It would be nice if Brannen was good enough at coaching to adjust and help them succeed, but Brannen seems just as set in coaching his scheme regardless of the players as Cronin was.
Most coaches are. Jim boeheim hasn’t done much in years and is still running his zone

Yeah, We get it, what’s the solution? Kenyon isn’t walking through that door

Probably too late for it now. But play Diarra and pray he figures it out on offense. It's why I've said Diarra needs more minutes. Or go small and play Scott at the 5, it's probably Scott's more natural position in this scheme. Vogt isn't going to improve on defense, Sorolla doesn't bring much. Diarra is the only guy on the team who has the potential to be an above average AAC center.

It’s definitely hard to see this team turning it around. Especially after tonight or the last couple weeks. But Xavier probably thought the same thing last year. Teams do it every year. You always hear about teams turning their season around. Not looking great right now for sure.

If he even gets a year 3. A new AD and fan upset after two straight NCAA tournament misses (after making it 9 straight years) may not get him to year 3.

Because we will be so young next year (and even in 2 years), this year was hugely important for Brannen's long-term coaching prospects to at least make the NCAA tournament. It's still possible that we will, but it's not looking likely.

He doesn’t have potential. They watch him play everyday. They see him play everyday. You’ve seen him play maybe 50 total minutes of basketball. If he could help, I promise you they would play him. He’s the 11th guy on the roster for a reason. He’s Quadri Moore. That’s who you want to play

Yeah this year is a total mess. I don’t see any signs of things turning around. It would be a miracle if this team made the tournament. I have been holding out my judgement on Brannen and his staff...but that is getting very hard to do.

I really don’t care About the tournament streak thing. I know a lot of people do and it’s nice to be there every year but good teams miss the tournament sometimes. Xavier, Wichita are a few that come to mind. It’s not the end of the world like some think. They are doing just fine.

The difference:
Steele recruits his ass off and has talent to turn it around
Marshall coaches his ass off and turns it around

We have no idea what John Brannen is made of.

We don’t. They didn’t know what Steele was made of either. Many were also calling for his head last year. Year later, he looks ok. If brannen gets Eason, and maybe 1 more guy after a coach leaves or something, all the sudden it looks promising. Looks bad now, no doubt.

Lolol remember when people came to me specifically to rub it in that UCLA lost to Hofstra?

Where Dey at now?

I expect a huge down turn in season tickets next year. Which will put pressure on the New AD. If we don’t see a tourney birth by year 2, I could see an early exit from Brannen. The rich folks I sat around tonight didn’t seem to thrilled with John Brannen.

I’d rather he just figure this out. But hiring a guy with no ties to the school, zero top 50 wins and not great recruiting chops, could end up being a big mistake. I think Brannen being our top option showed people how little national interest coaches had in this job.

It’s just 10 games in... I don’t see one thing that’s improved. I actually the offense peaked in the Alabama a&m game or whatever that game was.

I rubbed the Hofstra game in. I’m right here

If they were still here, they would probably mention how UCLA is also terrible with a more talented roster. I wouldn’t because I’m above that but others probably would.

I mean UCLA is sitting at the same record as UC, also coming off a loss in their last game. Not sure the point you're trying to make. It takes time for coaches to get their system in place and start to see results? Plus one of them has a way better roster.

But nah. Let's never give someone that chance and fire them after 10 games.

What do you think last years team would have looked like with an injured Jarron? Seriously. Do you think we're winning as many games last year with him being hurt the majority of the offseason and and throughout the season?

I agree thing haven't been looking good but we're 10 games in and our best player has been terrible in addition to being injured. With a healthy/engaged Jarron we're probably 8-2 and maybe 9-1.
