I'm not saying he disappointed, just when I think of a top 25 breakout season in all of college basketball I want more then 13.5ppg when playing a number of games against junky teams. I thought Evans played well at times but he was far from dominant a lot of times. I think he could be, just didn't have the mentality to be dominant last year.
We have a lot of options and he wasn't the primary ball handler, he played well within his game. He did everything we need him to, and he made a huge jump last season. I expect Cumberland to make a similar jump, and that's comes with extended minutes. He's going to be a starter next year and is going to be very productive. But the way it is with a lot of good teams, it's hard to have these crazy high numbers. He doesn't have to be a 20pt a game guy just to be good.
