I read the column from Koch, "Cronin, Calhoun Trade Jabs" (which can be found under the Bearcat News and Headlines section) and got to thinking. In my opinion, Calhoun is one of the biggest cheats in college basketball and quite frankly a pompous ass. Why would he even both calling out Cronin? His team won their game today, and his team also beat Cronin's team a couple of weeks ago. Besides just being the a$$hole that he is, I came to the conclusion that he feels threatened by Cronin. Calhoun should be thinking the heavens for the tradition of UCONN, built by the likes of Marshall, Allen, Okafur, and even Thabeet. It was this tradition that attracted Kemba to UCONN. If not for the history of that program, and events causing them to open up a scholarship, Cronin would have been riding the talent of Walker the last three years. Cronin has established his resume with relentless work and hours in recruiting and coaching, and rebuilt a program in the last five years. Calhoun, in the last five years, has fought his health, recruiting violations, and NCAA investigations. If I were Calhoun, I would be concerned about Cronin's success and potential. However, if I were Calhoun, I would also do a little homework before I start bad mouthing a fellow coach (so much for the Coaching Brotherhood/Code) and get the opinions of other coaches and the athletes themselves as to their opinions of Cronin. Cronin hasn't built his reputation his athletes, the athletes he lost out on, and all of the families by being shady and malicious. It is stories like this, that I feel more appreciative and honored to have a classy coach running my favorite program. Sorry for the rant, but I thought this story was ridiculous. Cronin is reaching out for respect for his kids and the program, and he has to put up with this crap. Keep kicking ass Mick!
Go Bearcats!

What a doucher Calhoun is. Sounds to me he is crying like a little baby bc his player didn't win. Boo hook hoo. What is he going to do? Call out every BE coach to find out who voted who?!! Ya don't do That Calhoun, ya dumba$$. And to say it was Cronin just proves how ignorant and clueless he is.

Calhoun has quite the reach on Mick....but never count out a firey irishman! I think Mick would kick that old man's A$$!!

I actually like Calhoun. I think coaches feel the need to go out of their way to defend their kids, funny thing is there is nothing to defend here. Mick has always said how good Kemba is.

I think Mick will be in the crosshairs of some of the other coaches for all of his "we're invisible" talk.

I think defending your players is great, the problem is that this isn't even worthy of defending your players. What is the difference between being a unanimous selection to the first team and just a regular selection? Absolutely nothing. If you have a complaint about Kemba not being the POY, that is one thing. He certainly has a strong argument. But this was extremely childish.

Also, its clear Calhoun has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. No clue whatsoever. The shot at Mick's job status was way over the line.

I'm not a big fan of he or Boeheim.

No love for Buzz from you guys? Marquette did an ESPNU-All Access this year and it's a great watch if you get a chance to catch it. I think the guys great to watch during games and he was even better to listen to at practice. That man sweats buckets.
