It was a good decision to go for it on the 4th down because if they punted, ECU would run the clock down and win the game at the end. However, why they would run an option play makes NO SENSE. Thank god Mick Cronin and the UC basketball team start real games tomorrow night!!!!!!!

The play calling after we went up 38-20 was atrocious all around. I love how we play super conservative and go 3 and out twice in a row to let them back in the game. Then when we need to be more conservative, all of a sudden the coaching staff turns into a bunch of riverboat gamblers. Just really bad coaching in this game. We are lucky to survive this one with a win. Hopefully Bohn keeps his options open in regards to our HC position after this season...

Nice to see Gantz do his thing. I agree about the play calling after we were up big in the 2nd. Just stupid. My really big gripe is still our defense. Last night particularly our corners and safeties. I can not stand all the PI calls against us. They looked so bad and so lost on every throw that was over 10 yards. I couldnt believe how many times our d never even saw the ball. They looked like straight sh*t I don't understand how they can be that fundamentally deficient. ECU could have thrown it long every time time and would have either completed the pass or get a PI call in their favor. Just not the kind of football I enjoy watching.

I agree it was a nice win. I like the strategy of getting a lead and running the football. I can't believe how many times in the 4th quarter we would run the ball or complete a pass and with the time running, would run up to the ball and snap it with 25 seconds on the clock. Not sure why we were not trying to take time off the clock. We were still doing this with 5 minutes left in the game. The whole purpose is to run the clock down. This was mostly true on the drive that started from 8 yard line and resulted in a TD. It was a great drive, but we should have taken another 2-3 minutes off the clock. As it turned out, we needed those minutes. I've seen this all year long. Secondly, the call at 4th down and 1.5 yards to go was awful. I guess it's easy to say from my perspective, but why would we have Gunner roll out with a QB option and pitch the ball? Not sure I have seen that all year. I would have rolled him out to the right and sent all five receivers slanting to the right with the option to run if open. I also like the Steelers with the three tight end set. One can pass or block depending on the defense. We have plenty of tight ends. I really like that arrangement and about the only thing I like that the Steelers do.

I don't agree with not punting on 4th and 2 in OUR own territory...you have to trust your D a little more...even if it is our mediocre defense. Actually, I was surprised at our defenses performance last night. Although it was far from perfect, we did a pretty good job of keeping them out of the end zone and forcing the field goal quite a few times...

I don't have an issue with going for it on 4th down. Go for the win with your better unit, your offense. The play call was bad though. I would have gone with a rollout to the right and given Gunner a pass/run option.

The play call was atrocious. Hopefully that is that last time we see that play call that late on 4th down with the game on the line.

Good thing Gantz came to the rescue with that clutch kick.

For once UC actually has a good kicker and can rely on them.

Crazy game, stuck it out in the cold to the very end and only got to bed four hours past my bedtime. On that note, I know it's been beat to death, but I hate ESPN. Their stupid long TV timeouts. UGH!!! Going for it on fourth down was just dumb, dumb, dumb. Even if logic does tell you they'll probably score anyway. They got lucky to win. You can't give them the ball on the 30. (Or the 27) I thought most of the interference calls were correct but I would've liked to have seen at least one on their receivers. There was alot of contact both ways on many plays. All-in-all at least we got an exciting game and a down to the wire finish to reward us for sitting out in the cold all night. Great job by Gantz to kick the game winner. One other note, Gunner really needs to do a better job of leading his receivers on downfield throws. He shorts everyone it seems. Let's win out and at least muster out a share of the conference title.

Has everyone given up on the football cats. Guys smoked UCONN. A shutout! 41-0. If they finish the year 9-3 and a share of title Have your expectations been met? Myself the improvement they have made defensively is incredible. A shutout against anyone in today's game is huge.

I haven't given up on them. UConn game was great to watch. Our defense has played better. Nice when you play teams that are in the bottom 10 of college football. Will be interesting to see if they can win out and get a share of the crown. That Memphis debacle might cost them am outright title and a chance to play in a premier bowl. I think the biggest plus in the last few games has been the emergence of Moore and Boone in the running game. Gunner is still not leading his receivers on deep balls and throwing short. That needs to be corrected by next season.

Just a quick glance at the season and you kind of won the games you should have won and lost the games you should have lost. And you sure don't get style points for beating the likes of SMU and UConn. Think playing in the AAC is going to kill you long term if you want a 'Premier Bowl'. I would recommend the BXII. You'll play reasonably tough schedule and if you beat the big boys there will be no concern about getting your due.

I like your recommendation, I'll take 5 please

Not our choice to be in this conference or to go to a different conference. UC is doing everything they can to get into a power 5 conference.
